Benavidez looks like Khan in there.

Mathis is game and is taking the fight to Benavidez.
Takes a lot of punishment to the body and takes a knee at the end of rd.1 and take another quick body shot and takes another knee.

Mathis recovers nicely in the 2nd and smothers Benavidez for much of the round but its still Benavidez's round.

However that may be Benavidez's most competitive round in his Pro career so far.

 

Benavidez lands a hard right that almost drops Mathis. The ref decides to give him a standing 8 count and waves the fight off after only counting to 4. Mathis looked ok to continue and is pissed off at the ref for stopping it. Horrible stoppage.
