I had Pac winning because he landed more punches, was the aggressor and the punch stats support him. Marquez just waited, appeared to be afraid of Pac's power, Nacho told Marquez to not engage all night and that was the problem! A boring fight. Pac became more aggressive as the fight went into the later rounds, but should have jumped on Marquez, but again, Nacho told Marquez to NOT ENGAGE! I blame Nacho!

I've noticed this myself, as was the 3 judges--they didn't agree on much themselves.

Initially I had Pac winning 4/5 of the last 5 rounds. However, on second viewing I had it basically 1-1-3. Pac definitely won the 11th, clearly. Marquez definitely won the 9th. If you think Marquez lost the 9th you're on drugs. The 8th, 10th, and 12th were all very close rounds. So close, that I scored them all 10-10.

That's because there were very few definitive rounds. It was very much a defensive fight and both guys struggled to find the target. Lots of arm and air punches that I think people are scoring as clean shots.

It is an incredibly difficult fight to score. Pac touches Marquez up, but Marquez lands fewer, but very much cleaner shots.

The last half was very much the least definitive of all rounds. I think 9 & 11 were more edged by either guy. Have no clue how some are giving Pac round 9, and Marquez round 11.

    All Marquez except the 10th.

Pacquiao's best moments IMO came in the first four rounds (which were the closest and least eventful), using his right jab more than he usually does.

I gave Pacquiao three of the first four and had him leading 39-37 heading into the fifth. Almost all downhill from there.

the 8th seems to be the one that Marquez was solid in. Looking at the scores on this thread the other 4 seem like they could all easily go Pac's way.

People are going off memory and mixing rds up. 10 was a pac rd 8,11 were clear JMM rds. In all reality he won the 9th but it was not dominate. He just landed the better shots same as he did every rd in the fight bar the 10th.

    round 8 : JMM
    round 9 : PAC
    round 10 : PAC
    round 11: PAC
    round 12 : PAC

jmm seem to have lowered his activity and punch volume during the championship rounds, 10-12. either he was a little gassed which i noticed or he cruised along during those rounds since nacho said he was winning.

Just rewatched the match again, the fight was really like a chess game...beautiful tactics for both fighters. From what I observed, Pac's more of a boxer on this fight, you can really see he's calculating his moves instead of just charging recklessly and get caught by tons of counters. JMM on the other hand, is not only countering but also charges from time to time to lure Pac for a counter. Controversy aside, this is a very good fight.

Based on ESBer's scorecards, the only definite rounds for JMM is 5-7 the rest are toss ups. I guess the judges saw a better angle than us watching on tv. If this was a robbery, then the scorecards will more or less be the same right? :think

JMM might have landed more "visible" shots but looking at the post fight, his face is more way more busted than pac's. So the question there is who hit the "cleaner" shots? :think

Fans were upset since they were thinking that its a 1 sided fight and JMM's going to be KOed. Too bad for those who bet an early KO, JMM proved them wrong. JMM really made this the defining fight of his career. :thumbsup:thumbsup

This is my take for this two fighters, Pac will always be an aggresor and gets countered. JMM will always counter and eat leading shots before countering. I can guarantee 5/5 fights this will always be the scenario and the scores will always be close. :deal

    Props to both Warriors!

P.S this is way better than ending a fight in a sucker punch :rofl

I had pacman winning 9, 10, 11, 12 and taking the fight. Could argue over one round and it would be a draw

Most experts and fans alike, if you look at all the scorecards, do have a clear cut winner. It's Marquez.
