After watching the three best fights of 2008 again recently.I put them in this order
    1 Pacquiao-Marquez 2
    2 Vazquez-Marquez 3
    3 Cotto-Margarito
But it could certainly be flipped around either way.

It is Cotto - Margarito for me.

No way Pacquaio - Marquez II takes it. It was a great fight, but the Vasquez - Marquez III was pure blood and heart. Ditto with Cotto - Margarito.

I'd have it in my top 2, tainted by the decision though, clear JMM win.

Taylor vs Chavez I was not only one-sided, but the ending was a huge sour note. No way is it that good.

Marquez-Vasquez were both p4p ranked when they fought. The fight had more action and drama then any other fight. Case closed

i think the point of those who pick this fight over vazquez-marquez3 is that in this fight, both were the top 2 boxers (except for floyd who was then the p4p king) and the fight was too even with both fighters giving top level performance that makes this a very great fight and a modern classic.

vazquez-marquez was really good but only vazquez displayed grade A performance while rafa fizzled down on the last round so his performance should only qualify to an A- which is a great fight also. cotto-margarito was pure drama but margarito gave an A performance while cotto disappointingly was broken down in the middle rounds for only a B-/C+ performance.

any way all were great fights, but pac-jmm2 stands to me as best and it boils down to one's perspective.

Vazquez and Marquez were also top p4p fighters who have equally exciting styles.
Vazquez - Marquez III was even more packed with jaw-dropping, dangerous moments as both were hurt several times including a knockdown each.
Vazquez - Marquez III is also a modern boxing classic, and even moreso than Pac - Marquez II because it was the final installation of an all-time great trilogy.
Don't know what this is suppossed to mean. The fight was close but most think JMM should have gotten the victory and instead Manny got the nod by the judges. So 'obvious' the conclusion was not.

It's useless arguing over this kind of stuff. It's all opinions, there is no right and wrong. I loved Vasquez/Marquez III, but I saw Cotto/Margarito live on my TV so watching the drama unfold was pretty awesome. I'll always remember it.

You're right bud, but I'm not trying to start **** here. I just don't get how he came to the conclusion that Pac - Marquez II was the best fight all year with those explanations he put up.
