This fight has ZERO value of appeal at this point. It's more than clear pacquiao would take the beating of his life even if no drug tests! The li'l crying diva missed the train and shame on Floyd if he offers pacquiao a payday of more than say, $5 mil for this comedy of a fight at this point. This fight has ALL the potential of putting boxing further down the scale rather than advancing it since the outcome is so obvious and everybody will be blasting both fighters for it. We boxing fans would be at fault if we support this circus.. Let's NOT make it happen... It's been time to move on... IMO it would be best thing for boxing..

 

I see your point but I have a slightly different take. Floyd was beating Ortiz like he would if he caught him messing with Miss Jackson. There was some flaw in Ortiz that he was able to exploit and he couldn't miss with the right hand. Ortiz would not have lasted 3 more rounds if he wasn't knocked out the way he was.

Floyd only hurt Cotto a few times in their fight because Cotto does not have the same flaws that Floyd can exploit. I think whether Floyd punishes his opponents or out boxes them depends on what he sees and feels in the ring. Neither Mosley nor Marquez have ever been stopped. Both might have if the fights were 15 rounds.

I don't think there will be a lot of clinching in a Mayweather v. Pacquaio fight. Floyd may clinch at times, but I expect more blocking, dodging and countering. He is becoming more and more elusive. Cotto and Ortiz barely touched him. The last time Floyd clinched a lot really was De La Hoya who was coming forward the whole fight. Pac usually attacks in and out.

I guess what I'm saying is that Floyd does hurt his opponents usually by accumulation over rounds, unlike Pac who just blitzes you. And if he can expose a flaw in Pac's style, which is highly likely since Pac has so many
flaws, it could be a short night.
