Some may argue that this fight has been promoted for the last 5-6 years, needs no promotion, yadda, yadda, yadda. BS!!! I have no doubt that this fight will be the biggest PPV event of all time, but a fight of this magnitude is not being honored in an appropriate manner. Instead of 3 million PPV, but could have been 3.5 or 4!!!

We don't know ANYTHING about this fight aside from the fact that it is taking place on May 2nd.

They haven't even announced when the FIRST press conference is!!!

We don't know who the announcers are. We don't know who the refs and judges are.

    We don't know the undercards.

No official fight poster except for the pathetic one that SHO/HBO agreed upon.

    Disgraceful!!!

    This fight should have:

A 10 City, Global Media Blitz

Massive billboards up in NYC, Chicago, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles - all of the major "movie premiere" cities

    Just ONE mouth-watering undercard fight

Commercials running on CBS (and on whatever channel owns HBO)

This fight BETTER be on the cover of ESPN magazine or Sports Illustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with this. The "fight sells itself" angle is incredibly naive, especially when you're putting a close to $100 price tag on it. Will I buy it? No question, but will a casual be interested enough or just wait to watch it when it's available within a few hours? That's the question.

The marketing and publicity for this event has been ....underwhelming. I am more excited about Cotto Bradley Khan HW matchups

A press tour is a waste of money.

Its the biggest fight in history, a press conference at Times Sq isnt going to add one buy to the PPV.

They'll probably do some anyway though

Is there really any need for a worldwide press tour? Granted, it would be nice if they went to the UK and the phillipnes to promote the hell out of the event, but than the fight would have to get pushed back until at least September.

I actually thought after they won their last matches that they'd do a 6 month plus promo tour for this fight and only fight once this year. I'm kind of glad they can avoid all the hoopla that surrounds these type of mega promotional events and just focus on training and getting ready for the biggest fight of the century.

If you need a press tour and poster to tune into this fight, you're not a boxing fan.

I agree with them, this fight sells itself. 2 of the best in the sport going at it.

The fight sells itself these two are household names they don't need a big 8 city media tour. They will save money by not doing one. Everyone knows about this fight and it will break records.

Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it make sense to see how much money the fight generates before calling it the biggest promotional blunder in sports history?

When I saw the TS I knew it would eventually end up being about PBF. So typical.
