Hell has frozen over bc you are right to a point. Floyd shouldn't stay stationary against Manny too long bc that gives Manny more chances even with Floyd's great defense. His ego might just allow him to walk Manny down. I don't think he will fight Manny the same way that he did Corley and Judah. I think he will fight him the way he fought Marquez and let Manny come to him. If Floyd starts out using his legs and giving movement then Pac fans can go ahead and call it a night bc Mayweather will dominate.
That's right man if Manny was a competent infighter Floyd would be in deep ****. The reason for Floyd's potshoting early on is to get his opponent desperate. By landing clean shots and not getting countered his opponent gets the feeling they are falling behind and they begin to take more chances which then give Floyd more opportunities. Floyd will make many walk to him in the early rounds and constantly make him pay with clean counters(1 or 2 punches) he will also jab alot(body, head). Then as the fight progresses he will switch it up and walk him down leading with right hands. He will not be able to knock Manny out though.
:deal Good post. The only way I see Floyd knocking Manny out is if he catches Manny coming in and catch him with some **** he doesn't see. Hopefully we all get to see this damn fight though so they all need to get their **** together and make it happen.
It's not about fast feet, it's about position; his right hand can't reach a southpaw whose turned all the way outside his right, and he'll have a harder time as the taller man getting away from a left lined up that way as well. I'm sure Floyd can adjust, but long arms without the right angle aren't nearly as effective. He was corned by DLH, turned by Judah, and became over eager at times in order to win rounds, which is when Manny can capitalize with something like a counter right. I'm not against anyone that thinks Floyd wins, but his lack of lateral mobility is a liability.
He put heavy pressure on Ortiz and Judah early because mentally they would fold. He was arrogant against Corley and wanted to put on a show on HBO during a time in his career he was trying to land big fights like De la Hoya. He relies on both his legs and upper body, but ya when he is using just his upper body he has been hurt(Mosley,Corley)
He dosen't. If he dose he should pass it on to some one unlike himself, who has the style, abillity and skills to beat Mayweather.
Floyd will not have a problem with Manny's move where he feints and and steps to his left(Floyd's right) to change the angle. Pac is predictable in his movements and combos. I agree PAC will corner him during the fight just like many fighters have and Floyd will look for counters off the ropes. He will also frustrate PAC when PAC gets him to the ropes, right where Pac wants him, PAC unleashes a combo and lands nothing effective. This is a feeling fighters are not use to and will hurt his confidence. He can become over eager and get caught but any fighter can I think it is far more likely Pac becomes over eager and gets caught. Your right man Floyd will not fight Manny the same exact way Marquez did, but he doesn't have to there is more than one way to skin a cat.
DLH was even more predictable coming straight forward, and still, for some reason, Floyd couldn't get into a rhythm like Hopkins often does against feinting aggressors and turn his opponents. Pac won't smother his own offense against the ropes, and while Floyd is effective in countering, he's also able to be flustered when cornered. Floyd may still win, but he's going to make it much harder for himself if he fights in straight lines as he usually does.
I believe Pacs tendency to fall in with his combos will be his downfall when he gets Floyd to the ropes. Floyd has no problem with the ropes because he knows that his opponent can get a false sense of confidence with him on the ropes and Floyd believes this will give him openings. He shook De la Hoya with a counter right off the ropes. The thing that Floyd should not do is stand in front of Pac and wait on him. That is what got him hurt against Mosley and Judah. He has to keep jabbing and keep feinting. I feel that Floyd will control the range in this fight just as easily as he did in his fight against Marquez, but you feel that he may not be able to because he does not constantly rely on lateral movement against southpaws. You make really good points and the more we debate the more I wish this fight would happen. :good
You will be losing what you bet. At least you'll be man enough to step up to the plate. Most of the Pac spammers on this website will disperse back into the jungle when the fight is announced, never to be heard from again.
What you fail to realize is that Zab fights nothing like Pac. Zab is more of a natural counter-puncher who brought educated pressure that had the ability to beat PBF to the punch something that Pac doesn't have.:deal PBF knew this and was cautious at first until he figured Zab out and started walking him down. Zab also has a better jab picks his shots better can throw one shot faster with more power than Pac. Even so they split the first 4 rounds and PBF beat a guy who had the stylistic and speed advantage over him. PBF's win over Zab is one of his most underrated wins on his resume due to styles. Zab's style would always give PBF more problems than Pac's who is far more wide open and reckless than Zab.:deal
The first time it was said they would fight I didnt believe it based on these same ideals. I never thought that Floyd COULDNT beat Manny. I felt he wouldn't because they would never fight. Manny is at the end of his professional career. With the latest tellings he should probably retire in 2 fights. That 2nd will not be Floyd less he gets hurt in the Bradley fight.
