Years ago CBS was heavily involved in boxing via "Wide World of Sports," and various special events. CBS basically created Ray Mancinni.

CBS aired most of the big fights. Sometimes they were delayed 1 week, but we still got them on free TV.

Well I thought the discussion was about why Showtime boxing sucks. I mean we are in ESB.com right? Who cares about the other stuff?

No I don't work for CBS. I do work in TV and CBS is one of our clients (along with HBO, ABC, and dozens of other channels).

I am clarifying your incorrect statement (about viewership).

Wasn't World Wide of Sports an ABC programming if I remember correctly (usually Saturday afternoon)?

No Showtime boxing doesn't suck at all, it is quite good. The guy who asked the question cares. Have a good day!

i like the showtime broadcast slightly better...particularly steve albert. not a fan of gus johnson. i dont like hbo broadcast mainly because sometimes lederman's scorecard is wildly off and compustrike gives you a bad impression. sometimes lampley and company try to sell something that obviously is sucking...bang!

i slightly prefer 24/7 over fight camp though. it tugs at my heart strings more and has a helluva better soundtrack.

My bad -- it was ABC.
