Before people start whining and crying. Pacquiao-Mosley is NOT the terrible fight everybody thinks it is. Pacquiao will win, but Mosley has the size and power to cause Pacquiao trouble. He will come to fight, and regardless of what people believe he is better even at this stage then Margarito, Hatton and Clottey. Cotto is probably the only fighter Pacquiao fought recently who can be considered better or even with Mosley.

So what is the fuss. Mosley isn't Mayweather. But Floyd may be headed to prison. And stop talking about the Mora fight. Mora is a middleweight that Mosley had no business fighting.

Face it folks, Mosley was Pacquiaos best option. Both finanically and competitively. The only better opponents were Sergio Martinez and Floyd Mayweather, but they were in the discussion.

There could be some good exchanges in this fight.

boxing fans are fickled these days

can you imagine if today's fans were in the 60s and read that Pep was going to fight Saddler a 4th time after Saddler was coming off a loss.

They would cry their brains out and accuse Pep of cherry picking.

I agree with you man. Mosley is currently ranked 5th by Ring and ESPN in the Welterweight division. This fight is at 147, no catch weight. I don't see the problem with this fight. Is it Mayweather..NO but he is fighting a legit welterweight at not a catch weight.

as an outside observer on this board when it comes to the ww division...i try and stay out of the ww argument since i have my hands full as it is being a pavlik poster...

it seems that the argument is with the entire package we have here. mosely is a faded warrior (whom i've been a huge fan of his entire career...i routinely watch ssm/odlh I for kicks) leaving his old company and joining tr presumably to get a shot a pac whom he previously tried to fight at 142. he has a bad loss to pbf, an ugly draw to mora who said he held back out of respect to mosely, and now he has this shot at the biggest cash cow around...the fight is being rumored to be at 148lb catchweight for the 154lb title. there are other, arguably more deserving fighters like berto (whom pac would destroy imo), or even the bradley's of the world or hell even a cotto rematch for a unification if arum wants to keep it in house...even marquez at the 147 they say it would have to be at...marquez would lose imo but he's earned it arguably.

all in all its not a bad fight. mosely will be a live opponent. he will lose but i'll be rooting for him despite the fact that i like pac. but in all honesty, the fuss over all this shouldnt be unexpected considering all the ancillary issues there are.

Mora held back out of respect for Mosely?

Mosely came to fight and Mora did not. It wasn't as bad as Paq/Clottey but for Mora to say anything shows how delusional he is.

Mora against Clottey would be a great fight...on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

mora said that, i didnt. whether its true or not is besides the point. after the fight, mora was kinda "shurgged shoulders" saying he held back because he felt the fight was his and didnt want to hurt mosely out of respect for him. could be bull****, but again, when were talking about lining up a subsequent fight w/ pac versus others who may deserve it more, it doesnt look good when you go from getting badly outpointed to fighting to a draw w/ a guy saying that.

i don't oppose the fight. ive been a life long mosely fan and will be pulling for him.

    im just saying...

It could turn out to be a good fight yes, but Mosley has done jack **** to deserve his shot and pacquiao could be fighting better fighters right now. in my opinion Mosley would get smoked easy based on speed alone.

The fight won't be bad, but do you really want to see mosley as one of the last opponents Pacquiao will ever face? no thanks.

Arum also wanted this fight to happen. Even Freddie Roach preferred Marquez or Berto over Mosley (source).
