As Miguel Cotto has been apparently adamant in fighting Manny Pacquiao at 145lbs, the Filipino boxing sensation is now looking at the possibility of accepting the challenge of Shane Mosley. Pacquiao’s lawyer Jeng Gacal said the Filipino boxer is now considering the option of battling Mosley at a catchweight of 143. In one of his few guest appearances with the daily morning “Sports Chat” Mosley once said he is willing to meet Pacquiao halfway, possibly at a catch weight of 144. Cotto meanwhile remains steadfast with his preferred weight. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach previously told “Sports Chat” that he prefers to have Cotto as Pacquiao’s next opponent and that a bout with Mosley may only be possible if the American agrees to move down to 143. Only recently though Mosley decided to look for another opponent as Pacquiao’s camp kept on ignoring Mosley’s public challenge. Cotto is the holder of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt while Mosley currently owns the more established World Boxing Association (WBA) strap.

This is bull... PAC wants to fight for Miguel's belt in the WW and he can't make an agreent for 2 lbs?? Come on... Miguel is already giving the concession of fighting below 147 PAC needs to stop with the bull****. Perhaps team PAC is scared since Miguel beat Clottey with 1 eye at 146lbs that he still might be too strong for PAC at 145lbs... Anyway.... all Pac fans need to ask their hero to stop with the bull**** and fight...

Still waiting for an official announcement. They better hurry before Mosley signs to fight Berto then Pac ends up with no big name unless he takes a stay active fight at 140 which I fully support after his last two major fights.

I'd even prefer Cotto at 147 or no fight. Shane at 144lbs is good but I still take Shane at that weight.

Fight Cotto at 147 for the real welter belt for his last fight would be great. Anything less than 147 lbs against Cotto, just pick any 140 lber...

If fights with Cotto and Mosley don't come off at 143, he can always fight Valero, Linares, or Guzman at 147.

...kidding, of course. But **** me the catchweight **** is getting old.

If in fact this is all true, smart move for Cotto and Mosley should now give Pac the cold shoulder and fight and unify the belts. As you said, Pac should fight at 140 with a top contender.

Pac should just fight Tim Bradley and keep his pfp #1.

I'm tired of these catchweights too. Against Cotto, it should just be 145, nothing lower.

    Bull****.

Pac's people are just using Mosley's name as leverage. No way Pac's people want him to fight Mosley.

Pac wasn't planning to fight Cotto, it's the Mayweather/Marquez fight being postponed that forced him to consider a fight before these guys are done, his main plan was the winner of that fight. It's obvious they're preparing for the winner of that fight fully expecting Mayweather to win, that's why they are considering a catchweight with Cotto or Mosley because they will consider the same for Mayweather.

making Mosley boil down to 143 at 38 years old and then beating him isn't much of an accomplishment. It might get Pac his 7th division but he will be a huge favorite in this fight and alot of people will boycott.

I assure you they will and fear no one. If their move from 135 to 147 against DLH was laughed at by the public and considered a circus where Manny is being greedy and doesn't care about his boxing career then they will do the same for Mosley. Hey man, they're considering Mayweather, if they're not scared of Mayweather why would they be scared of a 37 year old Mosley?
