On second thought, some people will discredit Pacquiao for everything he does no matter what... Even if you think Canelo is a **** opponent, you gonna blame Pacquiao for taking that kind of money for the fight? Ya know what... don't even answer that, this is futile.
Avoiding Canelo. Are you kidding me? With that money, Pac will fight Zorro, Desperado, and Machete all at the same time. :hey
If it's up at 154 and he follows it up with a victory over cotto than I don't see why not. If he intends on staying as a welterweight it doesn't make much sense considering how green alvarez is. I'd rather see pac take on ortiz and brad if he stays at 147. But combining a saul win with a cotto win would unify 154 and legitimise his claims as a light middleweight champion which is great for his legacy.
It means Pacquiao and Marquez are roughly the same size height and weight and by fighting at 144, neither has to cut any weight before the fight unlike having both fight at 135. :hi:
Dumb move by one of the wealthiest people in the world. Hey he got the money to waste, Manny will humiliate Canelo, he should just offer half of that to Bobby Pacquiao I bet Canelo would love that instead...
Yeah and I'm fully expecting Alvarez to enter the ring with concrete in his gloves, mouth and ass yet still be cheered for and still lose with excuses all over.
Some of you are underselling Canelo, he is a threat to Manny, that doesn't mean he would necessarily beat Manny but I'd like to see the fight. I certainly disagree with Canelo is a "B class" fighter sentiment, but that's just me.
thats bull****. fights are made to make money..... there isnt that much to be made fight alvarez.... theyre getting free publicity by throwing out a bogus offer
There's a lot of money in mexico...carlos slim's legit whereas the tijuana cartel can cover for canelo's share and it wouldn't matter if they'd get the money back in gate or broadcast /adv revenue, just have the peeps go in there free...it's good business...pablo escobar paid even more for security and local welfare in colombia back in the day.
I'm hardly a Manny fan, but why in the **** would anyone ***** about him fighting Canelo? Relative to the cats he's been fighting, I think this is a great fight, I'd much rather see the man fight young hungry talented fighters, than old washed up shot guys who are within two fights of being done boxing period. I have no problem with this fight and it seems like all the "cool kids" are shitting on Alvarez for whatever reason, but the kid is good. It's not to say he's better than Manny, but if they can afford to pay these guys 65 million for a mega fight in Mexico City, I think it would be ****ing phenominal and a great event to watch, I'd buy it.
This has me thinking and it has given me more motivation than anything is possible if one of the wealthiest person in the world really thinks Canelo will do anything against Manny at this point. It's time to start investing
