I hope it doesnt get made then JMM would probably get a shot at either one of them. Pac is starting to become like every other fighter that reached elite status. Other than Oscar Hatton is the only other top seller in the world. Pac even though is the #1 p4p fighter still cant draw a huge crowd like Hatton and Oscar.
Again, Hatton has one big win in his entire career. Money and legacy are the two main reasons these guys fight. Hatton already has money, but he doesn't have much of a legacy. Zab Judah once took a paultry 100k in order to get a rematch with Spinks. Say what you want about Judah, but that's a man who was willing to sacrifice in order to establish his position in the sport. That extra 3% won't really have a matetrial effect on Hatton's bank account. He should suck it up and accept the 45% cut. Somehow he's gotten a second chance to fight the world's best fighter. He shouldn't let 3% get in the way of his dream.
i think it was arum himself who started all of this "media negotiations" by declaring his 50/50 verbal agreement w/ gbp/hatton team out in the open. he probably did this to bully and coerce pac to sign a fight contract based on his verbal agreement. he knew that pac will end up being seen as the greedy guy here by the boxing fans/media if he didn't agree to this. he thought that pac will cave in as a result but he didn't.
I don't know why you guys keep doing those threads. DO you really care about the share? Just wanna see the fight...it will happen.
Aren't they fighting for Hatton's belt? Since when does the champ make less than the challenger? 50/50 was plenty fair. Pac's a greedy little ****. I've lost a lot of respect for him after all of this bull****.
Which belt? Are you talking about the IBO belt? No one gives a **** about that worthless trinket. Are you talking about the ring belt? The last time I checked, Pac was the Ring Magazine P4P champ. That surely trumps Hatton's belt. Pac isn't even a JWW. Hatton is supposed to be the JWW champ. If Hatton doesn't like getting only 45%, then he can go fight some top JWWs like Witter, Bradley or Holt.
Seriously, all these fans calling Pac greedy are failing to realize that the man is the TOP DOG. In my world, the TOP DOG gets the lions share. 55 - 45 doesn't sound that greedy now does it?
do you not think winning the lineal 140 championship would not enhance pacs legacy? taking the weight factor into account it would rank along side his very best wins, and there's no other big fights at 140 for him. and if he's not going to go below 140 again who else is he going to fight (assuming pbf stays retired)? from what i've read hatton brings more to the table financially than pac, so agreeing to 50:50 and now 52:48, he's paying for that chance.
they're not fighting for the p4p championship, they're fighting for the 140lb lineal championship and if you think that's not worth anything you're stupid. being p4p champ doesn't make him the best 140lb fighter, that can only be decided if he stops playing games and signs the contract. and as far as you stating pac isn't a jww, if they've said he's never fighting south of 140 again, what weight is he then?
No one gives a **** about lineal titles. You think anyone cares that Shannon Briggs was once the lineal HW champ? Regardless, Pac already has mutliple lineal titles. I would rank it at number 3 or 4. It for damn sure be Hatton's best win He can always fight Marquez a third time. The Holt vs. Bradley winner is a good fight for him. He's talked about even fighting Margarito. The winner of Cotto vs. Margo would be another option. I'll tell you what though, there is no other p4p no.1 guy out there for Hatton to fight. Why should Hatton even be concerned about money? Doesn't he already have a ton of money? What's the monetary difference between 48% and 45%? Hell, if he wins he can rematch Pac and take the bigger cut.
i think the koysta win is as good a win as the pac win would be. hatton will certainly be favoured with the bookies a lot more with pac than when he fought koysta. you're saying why should hatton be worried about the money, but then why should pac. anyway i've had enough of talking about the purse split, i hope they get the fight on, and if they do, i favour hatton to stop pac, although i wouldn;t be suprised if pac stops hatton, it's that kind of fight.
You're sadly mistaken He opened up as a healthy underdog to Pac. I think it's more about principle with Pac. Regarldess, he's already at the top of the sport and has beaten multiple HOFers. His legacy is pretty secure. The same can't be said about Hatton. Again, he's not even certain to get into the HOF as of now. The fight will get made. And personally, I think Hatton matches up well with Pac and has a good shot at beating him. With that being said, Hatton to give in on this one; give Pac the 55%. He has the stlye to beat Pac, and he would have the upper hand in the event of a rematch should he win.
