it's easier to explain if hatton is fighting floyd or pac. you could just say that hatton is fighting the currently best fighter in the planet. i have no idea but if UK is a big boxing fan country, this fight should have been watched by a fairly decent number of fans. i don't know if that fight is PPV there also.
How does it 'seem about right'? The high point of the spread is two and a half times the low point! You might as well say 0 - 1 million 'seems about right'. Unless you can prove otherwise.
If I got the story right . . . the 55-45 split idea came from the Hatton camp. An article says "Hatton camp made new offer, 52-48 split" and can go as far as 55/45. So if that was true . . . this is a made fight.
That's a very good point, Hatton should do whatever it take's to make this fight happen. It's where he should be, fighting the very best in the sport.
and that is what pac will bring to the equation. if hatton is fighting bradley or malignaggi, they cannot advertise it as hatton fighting the best out there. they don't need a name, they just need to know that pac is the best and beating him would add to hatton's legacy not only in britain but in the world.
That story came from a Manila newspaper and just doesn't ring true. What ****wit would say ok 52-48, but if you push it we will go to 55-45...that would be the worst negotiating stance that I have ever seen.
common sense says : if hatton-malignaggi really was a ppv hit in the UK, then figures would have already been disclosed esp now at a time where hatton-pac are in torment negotiations.
so why should that entitle pac to a a big share of hattons uk ppv buys when the people don't know who he is.
Sorry mate but when was the last time you came over to the U.K Because SKY or Setanta have never published there Box office figures unless you can prove otherwise
Yes, if Hatton v Malignaggi had done more than 1.4 million buys, then I think they would definately have been disclosed/'leaked'. Good publicity for Sky, beating the record again. So we can pretty solidly conclude that Hatton/Malignaggi sold less than 1.4 million in the UK.
