based on what? These are the guys in this generation that have the attributes you so highly admire. If Porter isn't walking through these guys then why do you think Armstrong would?

Your clearly missing the picture he does not have the same assets as Porter you said that not me! Armstrong was way more physical, with a greater workrate way better angels,, can't compare the two at all in anyway!! Porter is a weight bully who fought his whole amateur career at Middle weight and now drains down to fight at Welter please don't compare Apples to oranges!

Why would Porter fight at MW in the pros?

Boxed enough to know that moving your head and upper body on the way in is a good thing. Hatton displayed less head and upper body movement than Armstrong did in his matches. Armstrong was better at manipulating his opponents in close and defending on the way out than Hitman, too. It may not have been as pretty as you would like it to be, but it sure was effective...and would likely be effective in more modern eras, too.

Hatton at least won a title at 147lbs, and was undefeated going into the fight and in the p4p ratings. It's still not Floyd's best win by a long shot, but it would have more significance than Margo was Pac. That;s because Margo, wasn't far removed from the hiding he received at the hands of Mosley and the fight was conested at JMW, where Margo was less effective.

If Pac faces an earlier version of Margo at WW, it's a better win. As it stands, it lags far behind his wins over Marquez, Barrera, Morales (second fight, anyway), Bradley and hell, even Sakasul in terms of significance.

I think Joe Louis could make a hell of a cruiserweight, and he was in the same era as Armstrong.
