Pacquiao or Mayweather? when its all set and done who will be remembered as the best?

Better overall as far as skills probably Mayweather. Better resume Pacquiao. Floyds resume is packed with good fighters but he doesn't have any wins that compare to Barrera and Morales.

 

We are talking about common opponents here. You or another poster brought up that Pac beat common opponents more emphatically. I brought up a common opponent that Mayweather schooled, who went on to beat Pac by KO.

To your other point, whatever you may say about KO's not being humiliating in Duran's or Lenard's cases, the KO of Pac by Marquez WAS one of the most humiliating moments in boxing history. Moreso if we are to beleive Pac was dominating Marquez and about to KO him. Just as Pac is given credit for the humiliating KO he scored against Hatton, credit must be taken from him for being KOed such that he fell flat on his face. Keep in mind, Marquez was the underdog.

Finally, many great fighters HAVE been KOed. However, Mayweather an ATG and future hall of famer, has not.

For example, in boxing a signifigant size advantage is based on weight not an inch and a half height difference. Mayweather, as Pac, is a small WW.

And fighting 2 times a year is not SO regular. It's twice a year.

 

They are the two best of the era.

They are so much better than everyone else that they both took many fights which seem "soft" due to the gap in talent.

Lets call them both great because they are great.

Raheem would've been better than Morales since Raheem just whooped him. Guzman, Juan Diaz, Campbell, Mayweather, Mosley etc. all were better opponents at the time than the guys Manny fought (Catchweight Cotto, David Diaz, Morales coming off a loss, Clottey)

You said that Pac lost because he wasn't afraid to fight people that had stylistic advantages. That is a subjective statement. The Fact is he lost because he lacked the skills to win, not because he was brave enough to face the opponents you referenced.

JMM was the 38 year old dragged up 2 divisions for their third fight, at a weight he ahd lost 12 of his only 12 rounds at.

Ironically it was only the die hard Pacquiao fans who wanted to see the third fight.

 

mayweather fought a guy who had his # and left no doubt the 2nd time anyways.... but nope he doesnt get credit lmfao!
