The Problem with you guys.... You are all trying so hard to discredit what Pac has done. In this era, only JMM close loss is your case.

Now you guys are resorting to Glorifying Past greats as better resume than Pacquiao. Tell me guys.. Is there any among the feather Greats who has 3 Lineal titles except for Armstrong???

I'll answer for him and many others. We were boxing fans then and watched many of these fights live on our parents TV's on Saturday afternoons on ABC's Wide World of Sports, CBS and NBC. Sometimes the fights were on Sundays and many heavyweight fights would be telecast @ night while enjoying a large bowl of ice cream.

nobody is discrediting pac, you have to understand that. You sound like pac is the greatest fighter ever in the world in the whole era, don't get it wrong pac is great but there are others greater than him(ie. sanchez)

Didn't I say I already watched these fights.

    [yt]sYhpWfnZgcY[/yt]

    What's so special about Laporte???

    [yt]GjUWyx0jECQ[/yt]

    Lopez

    [yt]hAlaK_G90k0&feature=related[/yt]

    Gomez

    [yt]BllfooQQcZM&feature=related[/yt]

    Nelson

It's not only you who has seen these fights. It's all over the tube. Do I need to describe them??? As Brooky told us this is the best way to know about boxing, by using film. Ups not anymore. Nowadays by using Youtube!!!

By watching these fights, Did it change the facts that Nelson & Laporte came into the fight as an unknown & Green??? Did it change the facts that Lopez was Koed already by Chacon & some Jap bum? That Gomez is coming in as the smaller man???

they already said it, same case as the others. I know you're a hardcore pac fan, if you think pac is greater than sanchez then thats your opinion. I read all the things about how your case was pac getting 3 lineal, first asian. Anyway off to sleep:hi:

To answer your simple question, I have watched boxing since I was about 5-6 years old. I have downloaded tons of fights. I have bought DVD's of fighters. It's the same thing I do with every sport. I find all the footage I can afford to buy, then I watch it. I read about the history and the era (taken with a grain of salt) and not on Wikipedia. I may use wikipedia as a guide or source AFTER I check the sources used to write the page. I also read the classic forum quite a bit. I don't post there because many of those posters are out of my depth. I read and learn....I don't know everything and I understand my current limitations. You do not.

Well, with the thread starter comparing sets of wins which he handpicked as the best both men ever faced, it really goes to sanchez. Lopez, Gomez, Nelson weigh much heavier as the fact that both gomez and Nelson were faced in their respective primes. We all have to admit that MAB and EM are all going to the final phases of their respective careers. (Not washed-up/shot though, far from it)

Definitely it's Sanchez, but in the meantime I'll watch what Pac can do at 135. Once he unifies that division, he'll be over Sanchez.

His accomplishments may place him near or over Sanchez now. No one has really touched upon that. 3 true world titles is a big accomplishment. The issue with his first one is that there was a better fighter out there who held a title in that weight class than the one he beat. But what ya gonna do right?

Yep, past is past. If only Pac had met and Ko'd Mark Johnson instead of Sasakul, and the younger 122 pound EM/MAB, then definitely there'd be no question who has better set of wins.

Johnson was a very very good fighter, a P4P type of guy. Johnson was also recognized as the best fighter in the division for years. Pacquiao was probably too young to fight him and succeed. If he had beaten him, then he would have been a star before he moved to 126.
