We've been through this before. Check the boxrec bull**** you say. Title means squat. So what, George Foreman held the linear title back in late ninetees, should we rank him above Lennox, Bowe, and Holyfield simple because he was the one who hold the linear title?

Cut the crap, you're ruining the image of Filipino posters on this board.

Johnson was a natural Flyweight at the end of his career fighting at Bantamweight against a bigger fighter, and still managed to fight to a close Decision in their first meeting. At 112, if you honestly think the green, one-dimensional Pac could beat one of the best to fight at the weight, well then, you haven't changed, but you're still pathetic. Especially when Pac was getting KTFO by guys like Torrecampo.

This statement leads me to believe you've never seen a prime Too Sharp in action.

Johnson was fighting at bantamweight against Marquez, and obviously not fighting at the level he was as a flyweight. It's a testament to his greatness that he was able to hold his own against one of the best bantamweights I've ever seen.

At flyweight, he was an entirely different animal. Would he have beaten Pac? Yeah

Too Sharp was a friggin beast and was avoided by Chiquita Gonzalez,Carbajal, and Ricardo Lopez. Not to mention the at the time, highly regarded Yuri Arbachakov

True, he was a bit like the McCallum of the Flyweights. What a fight that would've been too, Johnson vs Arbachakov, two of the best Flyweights I've ever seen in action.

:yep I also would have loved to have seen a Oscar-Nazarov bout for the true 135lb championship.

Ahhh....it's great posting about somewhat obscure but great fighters with others who know boxing pre-2001.:D

Not to disparage Pac. but he's been KO'd twice, he lost a unanimous decision to a guy with two losses, and his last fight was a highly disputed splt decision against a past his prime 34 year JMM. If Pac. moves up in weight, I see him getting KO'd within 2-3 fights.

Sanchez lost a split decision early in his career, then ran the table against some serious competition of champions and future champions, and unfortunately lost his life as he was jus about reaching his peak as a fighter.

its easy to say JMM is past prime by looking at his age, but when you look at his ring performances, he is as prime as ever. Big win over Rocky Juarez, win over Barrera, and close fight against Pacquiao.

Technically he was even better in the 2nd fight than in the first. He also looked much stronger, and was definately better prepared. He had a full 3 month training camp for ****s sake. And its not like Marquez has been through some big wars in his career.

I don't buy the past-prime bull****, not in his last fight for sure.

This kind of reply is getting old and annoying...

This thread is not even a knock against Pac, though obviously, most members here would vote for Sanchez, and it may not be close.

Like any fighter, Pac will get his full due when he is no longer fighting

    Exactly.

In ten yearsw time, they will see his one-sided massacre of MAB and his demolition of EM in 3 rounds as some of the most dominating performances this decade in those weightclasses.
