You make a fair debate topic here, but the fact that the decision in Pac's favor is still hotly disputed among fans and experts alike does not make for a convincing victory. And again, Pac. has been KTFO twice and I predict before his career is over, Pac. will be KTFO again. Not trying to disrespect Pac., he's great and I like him but that's just my prediction.

Nelson may have been green when he met Sanchez, but he was nevertheless a very, very good fighter when they met who only got better as the years passed. So while he may have been lacking in experience, he more than made up for that with his natural ability and youth and would have been a very difficult opponent even at that stage of his career for many great featherweights.

LaPorte was also lacking in experience when he met Sal, but much like Nelson did he gave a good account of himself in a losing effort and gained valuable experience as well as well as a dose of confidence having gone the full fifteen with an experienced fighter and champion like Sanchez. Juan went on give Eusebio Pedroza one hell of a tussle shortly after his fight with Sal, and the Panamanian had to use all of his dirty tricks to slow him down and get the nod.

As for Lopez let me correct the Pac fanatics by stating that he was not ko`ed as pacdbest implied, no one and I mean NO ONE ever put Danny down for the full count. Sure, Bobby stopped him but anyone who has seen the fight (and I get the distinct impression that some here haven`t) they would know that Chacon landed a TON of leather on Danny in their fight, yet it still took nine rounds of being bombarded by Chacon to finally put Danny away on his feet I might add, and Chacon could punch with the best of them.

As for the Fukuyama fight I know that this pacdbest knows not what he is talking about concerning that fight and it is clear that he has never seen it, as Danny was not KOed, not even close. The real reason the fight was stopped was due to his inability to see out of his right eye due to the solution used to try and close the cut getting into his eye thus temporarely blinding him. As for Fukuyama being called a jap bum it just goes to show how little you know about Shig and the era he fought in and the fighters he faced.

Shig`s record may not look all that impressive at first glance, but he was not an easy nights work for anyone and he never went down without a fight and always went out on his shield. He did score a few upset wins over some young, up and coming prospects which unfortunately for him resulted in managers avoiding him like the plague if they had a good prospect.

Shig being the pro that he was simply took on the best his division had to offer instead, coming up short more often than not but always giving the fans their moneys worth and with his big right hand and warrior spirit he was always in a fight until his foe put him down for the count. One should not speak about topics they are not well acquainted or familiar with, as it only leads to misinformation on the part of the ignorant party.

On a seperate note I do not understand the disrespect shown to both Chava and Pac in this thread, this boggles my mind really. In my opinion Sanchez is clearly the superior fighter over Pac, and his biggest wins eclipse Manny`s imo as well. But Pacquiao should be applauded for not shying away from tough competition which in this day and age is something that is unfortunately a rather common occurence, just look at Mayweather as an example of a so-called champ and p4p fighter doing his best to avoid facing the top contenders in his division.

His win over MAB was a great one and all credit to him for it, although I think that his win over the underrated and undrappreciated Chartchai Sasakul was just as good.EM though would have always had his number at each mans respective peak of this I am certain, because if a declining version of the man was able to beat him as decisively as he did in in his last great performance then the younger and stronger version of him would have done so even more convincingly.

As for the two meetings vs JMM I don`t think Manny has clearly shown himself to be the better fighter in their two encounters, but he did show that he would always give Juan trouble with his blend of speed and power which in JMM`s old age he will not be able to overcome even if they meet a 3rd time. So to be fair while Pacquiao may have shown himself to be vulnerable the more he has moved up in weight, he has also show himself capable of holding his own with some of the best fighters in the lower weight divisions in this era, and that alone is a noteworthy accomplishment.

Love him or hate him, be it Pac or Sanchez or any other fighter, no one here should be so direspectful as to disparage any fighter just because of their idiotic and ignorant, misinformed fans. I like Pacquiao even though I do not believe he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and would lose more often than not when put in the same ring as the true elites of the lower weight classes. But he does bring excitement, a big punch and tons of heart to every fight, and I`ll gladly take that anyday over some poserlike Floyd who calls himself the greatest without actually proving it in the ring by taking on the top contenders of his division.
