    Word is, even before the fight, that Edwin Valero and Victor Ortiz beat the snot out of DLH in sparring. :deal

    People who followed boxing back then know and remember Oscar having his face busted up by Ortiz.

    That's becuz Pacquiao hasn't fought any anyone as severely weight drained as Oscar was... But not from lack of trying though :nut

    That's ridiculous. Even if he somehow did, it would be nowhere the performance Manny gave. You don't need to say stupid **** to let us all know you hate Manny, we get it.

    One of his top 4 best performances, along with Cotto, Hatton and Barrera 1.


    Oscar was shot to **** and weight drained, so i dont give him nearly as much credit as for the other 3.

    No. Pacquiao's last great performance was over Ricky Hatton. He dominated an opponent that wasn't too washed up, wasn't drained, and was coming off a pretty impressive performance over Malignaggi.

    The truth is Oscar looked like **** against Forbes. There was no doubt in my mind Oscar was going to look ever shittier when he: (a) went down to a division in which he hadn't visited in a decade (b) fought someone faster and more dynamic than Forbes

    I won $500 placing bets on Pac. Easy money. I feel stupid for not winning more.

    Btw, at his very best Pac would still either get beaten or go through life and death with JMM. And that's been proven.

    Too bad people's blind hatred of the man tainted his brilliance.

    He was one of the most exciting fighters of all time.

    Hopefully, ***** ass ***** gets beat by Guerrero and finally finds his balls to fight Pacquaio like he said he would before he ducks somebody else and ruins their reputation.

    There's no question Oscar wasn't the same anymore, and it looks like he cut too much weight -- but people like to forget that Pacquaio was the smaller man moving up, and he was supposed to have his head taken off. How many other flyweights have done what he has? The answer is none. When a fighter is operating at his absolute best, you know it when you see it. Pacquiao went on to destroy Hatton and Cotto in his next two fights. A lot of people were saying the same things about those fighters - they're too big, Pacquiao will get KO'd, etc.

    Give credit where credit is due.

    You mean a Hatton who admitted he was crying and mentally not the same after Mayweather cracked his chin??

    You mean the Cotto who pac drained???? And don't say the CW didn't make a difference because if it didn't matter than Pac and his team wouldn't have asked for it

    Yeah I say do away with all the threads about the past and get rid of the Classic Boxing forum. No use of boxing fans discussing and debating about the history of the sport.:verysad

    That was a mismatch. Marquez-Pacquiao 4 that was a masterclass by Marquez. Mastercl-ass kicking.

    I'm sure you thought Floyd's outboxing of Oscar just a year earlier was a masterclass, am I right?

    Lets put Pacquiao in the same ring as that Oscar, and I assure you get the same result. Oscar was as flat footed and immobile in that fight. The difference is Pacquiao completely dismantled Oscar and won every round up to a late stoppage, something nobody has done - and he did it as a small fighter moving up in weight.
