pacquiao Rejects Marquez 50/50 Demand

Pacquiao was knocked out brutally, Juan has been short changed on the cards in this series and has taken fights that have paid him less as a result.
There is no reason Manny should even get an even split it should be 60/40 the venue should be that of Juans Choice.

Knowing that Manny rejected a generous offer of an even split purse that lets you know Manny is not focused on revenge he is focused on cashing out.

Juan deserves more than just 50/50

 

It's stupid to accuse Pac of ducking but the onus does fall on Pacquiao to make the fight here if he wants to avenge his loss.

Floyd vs Pacquiao, both felt like they had the appropriate leverage and reasoning to make their demands so neither gave in.

Two completely different scenarios.

I felt Floyd deserved more than 50/50 then for a Pac fight, and I think Pacquiao deserves more than 50/50 now for a JMM fight.

Pac has consistently done up to and over a mill and his last 6 fights or so, with or without JMM. What's JMM's highest PPV without Floyd and Pac on the card?

As far as "official" numbers go Pac did over a mill against Margarito, Cotto, Oscar. The rest haven't been disputed by anybody.

I'm just using the same logic your boyfriend uses -- but in this case it actually holds water.


And just to clarify - I dont care if Pac gives JMM 50/50 or not. If he wants to do it to make the fight happen , more power to him.

The only thing different about the scenarios is that there was a promotional difference which makes every fight between the two impossible, higher quantity of PPV numbers to break down, and failed negotiations regarding blood testing in the past.

Wouldn't be surprised....and would love to see it at this stage in their careers. Mike can take a punch, but doesn't have one punch KO power, especially not if he's moving up in weight. We're not sure what Pac has left, but if he can't decisively beat Alvarado we know it's not much.

 

It's simple.

When one person is chasing the fight, they have to cave to the demands of the other fighter as much as they can.

When both feel like they should be chased and not the chaser, the fight won't get made.

If Pac doesn't feel that giving 50% of the purse is worth it to avenge his loss, fair play and take another fight where he can dictate the terms to his liking.

Nobody here is really clamouring the see the fight again.

Well, the other difference is public demand which was massive for Floyd vs Pac and virtually nil for Pac-Marquez 5.

 

This is how I feel, and I'm far from the biggest Pac fan. Boxing is a business. JMM's KTFO6 didn't make him a huge PPV star like beating Oscar did for Floyd and Pac. If Pac refuses JMM goes back to small paydays, while Pac will still be making around the same amount. Pac has been proven to bring in more buys than JMM, it's simple.
