Matthysse has a better chance at ko'ing Pac. Matthysse is nowhere near as shot as Pac, I don't even think Matthysse is shot, eye issue aside.
You obviously didn't see him struggle with that Thai fighter who had nothing beyond a jab. Even if you believe Pac lost to Horn (which I don't), Horn is a million times better than Matthyssee's last opponent. It is possible Pacquaio gets a stoppage but I believe Pac will win a clear decision. Lucas is shot and he will be at a speed disadvantage, all Pac has to do it box him and he'll win (similar to the Vargas fight).
Kiram came in w/ an excellent KO record (albeit one filled w/ all bums). Maybe Lucas wasn't trying to see if the power is real and was being extra cautious?
Interesting, you're rating Lucas pretty high. No matter Pac's degree of "shotness" his pedigree is so much better. He's also a guy that does not solely rely on his speed unlike a Jones Jr. whose boxing acumen was exposed as pretty poor comparatively once we saw his athletics fade.
Nothing is for certain in this life......except that Manny Pacquiao doesn't score KO's. It's been ten years. Just stop. At this point get Ronald McDonald in the ring for a KO win because it ain't gonna be Lucas Matthysse.
He took too long to feel him out for his power. Matty also didn't look very good, he looked lethargic. Lucas was probably down until he scored the KO. Now he is fighting a guy at a much higher level, albeit a shot version. Lucas still has power but unless Pac gets reckless, Pac will win the fight. Lucas isn't a master counterpuncher like Mayweather or JMM, the guys who gave Pac the most problems. He is a heavy-handed guy who comes forward and isn't that great fighting off his backfoot.
Roy's boxing acumen wasn't all that poor (not as poor as it's made out to be), his durability was. I don't I'm rating Lucas high, I just don't see the fall off yet. Regardless of skillset and it is far higher that Matthysse's, Pac get's hit far too much, and I don't see where he's taking this fight seriously. He has too much going on outside the ring. Only clips of his last fight actually ( I do need to watch it). I thought Pac beat Horn and Lucas may very well be shopworn as well, he's not as shot as Pac. With Pac, it's clear, it's visible and he's been in this trajectory for yeards. Pac may turn back the clock and beat Lucas' eye to death and force him to capitulate but I don't see that happening. I just don't.
