So many opponents have been totally SHOCKED by Pacquiao's speed, power and ability to put together combinations non-stop. I remember when i got my first shock. It was Barrera vs Pacman I. Barrera was favorite and Pac was not well known, i didn't like him for some reason. I was pulling for Barrara and then witnessed a TYPHOON - Barrera was swept away with a combination of shocking speed and power. EVER SINCE then, opponent after opponent have been shocked. When Pac started to move up in weight, he started to take opponents by surprise. Diaz was shocked after the fight and when interviewed kept saying 'he's so f fast, fast, fast man'. Hatton went at Pacquiao and didn't even know what hit him, he never expected such speed and punching power. DLH was totally shocked by what he faced and recently stated he hasn't gotten over the shock. Cotto was caught by surprise too, didn't expect what he got. Rios has been quoted as saying 'he was so f fast, one min he was there, next here, next'. Even more recently, Bradley and Algieri were caught by surprise. Bradley told his trainer after the fight how intense Manny was, he didn't expect it. Algieri thought he had game plan but after the initial shock of feeling the speed and power, opted to run from Manny all 12 rounds. Bradley tried to warn him about this! Even JMM himself, was TOTALLY SHOCKED the first time he faced Pac; pac floored him 3 times in first round! JMM adjusted but initially he was shocked shocked shocked. Time and time again, this has happened to opponents which is something i have never seen in Floyd's case. I have never heard an opponent express shock after fighting Floyd, they all say he was tough and elusive but they sort of get what they expected ;Manny seems to show speed and power above the expected. This is amazing given opponents go in knowing he's fast but something Manny does surprises them.

So, i can't wait to see Floyd's reaction after he feels the speed, power, intensity and Manny's ability to put together 5-6 punch combinations all fight long. How will he react? by getting more defensive or deciding to attack the attacker, maybe use an element of surprise himself! I guarantee he will be surprised, everyone is.

Pac will always be remembered for his destruction of Barrera. It was the most ridiculous thing we've seen in boxing since Hearns Hagler.

Not only did he adjust, he started putting a beatdown on Pac. Mayweather adjusts much quicker than JMM so it's almost a moot point.

after the initial shock, basically JMM's game plan was - 'He's too fast so i can't avoid getting hit but I WILL trade with him and hopefully avoid getting knocked out'

Floyd will not adopt this mexican warrior 'let's get bloody and trade' strategy.

I think outboxing Manny won't work, you have to knock him out or trade with him. Problem is, this isn't in Flody's DNA.

No he didn't, he simply started out boxing Pac by setting traps and leading him into combinations He knew he could outbox Pac. When he knocked him out it was with a trap. Floyd don't have to knock Manny out, that's a myth although he very well could. All he has to do is beat Mannys ass which he will. Floyd is gonna beat Manny in every aspect of the fight. The only thing that Manny can hope for is to wear Mayweather down and you know that won't happen.

:rofl:rofl:rofl JMM has outboxed Pac by a huge margin. If you look at the total rounds won, it heavily favors JMM. Pac better get some lucky punches in or he's going to get schooled hard.

JMM had to endure 5 knock downs in 4 fights to finally get a win, and in a fight he was losing! what does this tell you? He got hit, time and time and time again. His strategy was pretty much to get hit but counter and hope he can do the most damage.

you talk about 'traps' as if JMM was setting mouse traps for Manny. I look at it more as JMM using himself as BAIT, for an incoming shark... many of those traps didn't quite work that well when JMM was getting his face re-arranged and tasting the canvas 5 times. In the 4th fight, which he was losing, he happened to time it just right... but it took him 4 fights and a reckless Manny..

so, again, if Floyd is willing to trade and get hit, he has better chances than trying to pot shot and run away... this will NOT WORK.

but back to the initial shock factor, i bet floyd will become too defensive after he feels Manny's heat

First thing you have to realize is that JMM ain't no Mayweather and while he did get hit, it wasn't because he was giving up his face. That's ludicrous. JMM got knocked down three times in one round and still managed a draw (which I think he won the fight ). He didn't get that draw by slugging it out. That didn't make sense because he was losing that part. He became a boxer puncher. The reason they fought the other fights is because Pac's wins were controversial. JMM ended that mess in the fourth with a trap and yeah you're right. It wasn't a mouse trap, it was a rat trap and a rat was cold busted. That was a boxing mind that conceived that.

Now, back to Floyd, Floyd is gonna beat Manny's ass in every aspect of the fight. He is gonna back Manny up in this fight on several occasions. He is gonna beat him on the inside and out box him on the outside. Manny's so-called power is a myth. He is not being fed them peds anymore. He has decent pop but he hits no harder than Maidana.

funny you mention peds, which floyd claimed ariza facilitated and now floyd hires ariza.

You talk about Floyd beating Manny's ****, walking him down, disrespecting his power etc.... well, this is more like a myth cause this is not the real Floyd, it's myth. The real Floyd is the Floyd that is so feather fisted that he didn't even HURT Marcos Maidana, who charged him for 24 rounds without even covering himself up. Not only couldn't Floyd KO a fighter who fought with a total disregard for defense, he couldn't even hurt him, i mean WOW. Even Khan hurt Maidana... So Floyd will be a completely different fighter against Manny, a fighter who is 5 times the fighter Maidana is in virtually every category? I WANNA SEE IT.

back to JMM, the dude did absolutely strategize around taking punches, even his coach Nacho alluded to it - 'I didn't like how he was letting Manny hit him so he could counter' Nacho wants no part of Manny anymore, he's sick and tired of watching JMM getting his nose flattened... but JMM is a mexican warrior, they all fight like this.

Floyd CANNOT avoid MANNY'S punches, he's too fast and you will see for yourself on May 2nd. The problem is that he isn't a mexican warrior so he will run and dance ballet, won't work.
