It's the most significant fight for his legacy along with Mayweather. It'd mean he'd be a 9 division champ who has held linealship at 112 and 160. This puts him top 10 ATG.

It's also… in my opinion… a winnable fight for him. Even with no CW. They both rehydrate to what? 170ish? Or even a bit south of that. Pac brutalized Margarito at 165, and while Martinez and Cotto are a grade above Margarito I still believe it's doable. Beating Golovkin at 160 would be too much, but I think he could beat the current 160 forms of Cotto/Martinez.

He was 151 against Bradley. What does Martinez rehydrate to…? Like 168 or something? That's the kind of handicap he had against Margarito.

There has been talk of Golovkin fighting the winner of Martinez/Cotto, but doubt if he happens............

He could beat Cotto but I highly doubt he could beat Martinez.. I don't know, but Mayweather is probably looking out for this fight too.. :smoke

Are you joking? Pacquiao is too small to fight at 160.

None of the guys at the top at WW; Floyd, Pac, JMM, Bradley, Maidana... they should never and likely will never compete at MW, nor should they, really. All are smaller men moving up, especially the first three listed.

I will add though that if cotto manages to somehow beat Martinez then it might be worth a shot

You mean Pedjr should, since he's bigger and claims to be tbe. Instead he'll fight Khan or Maidana with cushions as gloves.
