Pacquiao should have fought Casamayor.

I'm sure at the time a Del a Hoya fight was more desirable for both Pacquiao and fans anyway.

I do. Not because it was Casamayor, but because he could have fought a legitimate champion, like Juan Diaz, but David, that was nothing more than a very cheap belt grab, possibly worse than Canelo vs Fielding.

Back then 2000s the top guys were only fighting about 3 times a year. You can only fight so many guys especially when you have rematches. Nowadays the top guys aren't even fighting 3 times a year. Now it's more once or twice a year at most. Golovkin, I know you're a hater, but one thing you have to give him credit for was he probably the last top level fighter who was out there staying busy 3-4 times a year.

Bro, I know you just started boxing a few years ago, and I respect how much you have learned and your dedication, so with all due respect, when someone says Juanma they are usually referring to Juan Manuel Lopez, when referring to Marquez, its just Marquez, Dinamita, JMM, or Pac's daddy.

He came out guns blazing in round one standing shoulders squared up ready to bully the smaller man in Pacquiao. He paid a stiff price in trying to slug it out it man to man against Pacquiao because he was dropped 3 times. So he spent round 2 clearing the cobwebs from his head. And then for the remainder of the fight fought a cautious fight.

Yeah I saw a lot of that when I was looking for background info on the Lopez/Salido fights, I found IB saying it about Márquez, and it fit. Idk. Sure, I'll stick with JMM, it's easier.

Then proceeded to outbox Pacquiao all night. Not really a criticism.

In fact, the fact he came back from the first round AT ALL is a credence to him, not a criticism.

Yea, but it's a testament to Pacquiao's power at 122/126 which was the point I was making. Everything Pac touched clean at those weights melted. Including Marquez who tried to fight a manly fight at first, but then realized that Pacquiao had far too much power for Marquez to fight that fight.

He was an animal back then. The fact this FW can stop a man as big as Cotto and quite literally break Margarito's face is incredible.

1st thing I thought of when seeing this thread was if anyone deserves a pass for not fighting a particular opponent in their career..... Then it is Pacman!

Look at his resume, jesus it is incredible.
