Thurman is just a name. He had returned after two years of smoking dope to collect a paycheck and hasn’t fought since. I don’t see how having a loss to a mediocre fighter like Horn adds to PAC’s legend.

Yes it is a very bad idea in general.

    Great time to retire.

I wish he would have gone back down to 140 and avoid those huge welters instead

I don't see how you could have given the fight to Pacquiao. I had it 116-112 Ugas. Peak 2009-2010 Pacquiao would have Clottey'd Ugas and probably stopped him. It was the right time to go.

False. Pac fought a more active version of Thurman than both Danny and Shawn. Thurman had a tune-up and fought Pac six months or so later. Against Danny and Shawn, he was out for more than a year.

For once, you are correct. My mistake. However, he looked like **** in his tune up and he clearly had declined. Not that I ever thought he was all that.

Yeah he could probably still beat up some lower-tier guys but what’s the point in that.

Pacquiao said himself he knew it was time. Not gonna disagree with an ATG on that. Roy Jones needs to be the poster boy for hanging on too long. It never, ever ends well.
In 6 years he and Floyd can have their 2nd fight in an 8 round pity-pat exhibition match and make bank.

Yes, Pacquaio should have retired, before he got seriously hurt by somebody like Ennis, Spence Jr, Crawford, Ortiz.

You understand what I'm saying, Pacquai had a great career, incredible actually, but his time has come and gone.

Sure he can do the Mayweather thing and do ridiculous exhibitions and earn some monies but he should stay well clear of younger, fresher and hungrier fighters.

There are serious health consequences associated with consuming entire Soviet chemical laboratories in your 40s. It was his time to retire.

Agreed, he's not slurring quite yet... his brain could do with a couple hundred more punches, he should definitely keep fighting. Who cares that he's not a legitimate threat to the throne anymore, he should just keep fighting because he's not a complete shell yet.

    Crawford vs Pac 2023!

No more real fights. Exhibitions, sure. Make some money and make your rabid fans happy.
Otherwise he's going to go down like Joe Louis did, especially since he continues to fight bigger guys.
