Look how easily he did it when Margarito had hurt him in the 6th round. He was STILL out punching Margo, but not committing to his punches as much in that round. And we all know that Pacquiao has the stamina to do it.

This was Cotto's downfall. He lacked the stamina to be on the move for all 12 rounds and he had(and still has) trouble fighting on the bike.

Mayweather vs. Margarito would have been easy as pie for Floyd, IMO. But the result wouldn't have been Margarito looking like an alien as he did with Pacquiao.

Mayweather & Pacquiao have different mentalities yet are nearly comparable athletically and speedwise. It's the classic aggressive vs. defensive fighter. I really hope it does happen.

Floyd waited for Mosley to become a Senior Citizen and fought him.

Bad training camp. His body indeed looked soft. I hope its not from age catching up though.

I dont understand how people are saying that Pac is slipping. He fought Margarito a pressure fighter that outweighed him by 17 lbs ffs; he threw over 1000 punches and reconfigured Margos face in the process. It was a brutal beating period by an ATG.

Apparently you overrate your own understanding of me, because I'm not a Margarito fan. I consider myself pretty damned impartial. I felt Margarito was getting quite overrated during the time of the Cotto fight actually. Now, I believe he's being underrated instead. The difference? A lot of people really liked him before and then after the wraps and not helped by the Parkinson's joke incident, people really dislike him. In my opinion, people have gone to extremes on his abilities in general because of that coloring their judgment.

I also think Margarito is a better fighter than Lacy was and Calzaghe wasn't operating under a very considerable size disadvantage either, that I can recall. Too different a scenario. Margarito has always been a very good pressure fighter and that's why he was able to hurt Pacquiao despite the speed disparity, which is one thing I was expecting. I haven't actually seen a fighter who danced around to a points victory against Margarito, because of his ability to force people to fight. Shane didn't win by doing that, I know Williams didn't...He knows how to walk through to you and close the distance even slowly. An albeit inexperienced Sergio Martinez was stopped by an also inexperienced Margarito while enjoying an also great speed advantage over him.

Pac and Margo, different as they are, are two fighters who get the job done by heavy, constant offense. Pacquiao was never going to be dancing around Margarito for a points win without taking damage. That is not how he functions and never will be. It was never going to be like Lacy/Calzaghe. Pacquiao was definitely in for a tough night and if they fought again, even if still in dominant emphatic victory, it would still be tough, I think.

Agreed, Pacquiao got hit a few times.

It's not like it's a boxing match or anything.

He was also the number #1 welterweight at the time, who also just did the impossible in his previous fight = KO iron-chinned Margarito

im not comparing lacey to marg, im just using that fight as an example of how it should have been handled throughout by pac.

And I'm just saying I've never seen anyone handle a fight with Margarito like that, even enjoying a large speed disparity and that I don't see how Pac should have handled it that way when it's not his style and there's no precedent for it that I can think of for either Pac winning a fight that way or Margarito losing one that way, unless you can point me toward one.

Same bs when Mosley landed a big shot on Mayweather; all of a sudden he's not meant to get hit in 12 rounds of boxing?

I guess it can be a good thing for Pacquiao though, as it's obvious that people hold him up in such high regard they expect him not to ever get hit. And considering the likes of Ali, Whitaker, SRL etc and the amount of times they got hit thats a pretty high standard he's achieved.

We rate the legends of boxing by how they take punches and come back. Yes, he was hurt, but he came back even stronger.

Exactly when Floyd got hit all of the sudden he cant take a punch when in fact it was a vicious shot that would've KO'd a lot of people. Floyd came back and completely outclassed Mosley and we are talking about a Mosley that just demolished Margarito.
