This content is protected SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico Gorgeous women swooned while the men called his name the moment Manny Pacquiao stepped out of a black Ford Excursion that took him to the elegant El San Juan Hotel and Casino close to midnight Friday. My God! Im in love with him, said a voluptuous fan after she and her friends had their pictures taken with the Filipino ring icon who took a four-hour flight to Newark, New Jersey to this city which gives you the feel of Las Vegas and Havana combined. Pacquiao smiled and obliged as numerous fans sought photos of him. Fans started greeting him at the aiport, and as he boarded the SUV, one of three that waited for him, the first thing he told his companions was, Sikat pala ako dito (Im popular here). At the hotel, one of the trendiest here in Puerto Rico, Pacquiao created a stir once he arrived, and it took him almost 10 minutes to get to the door. Just outside the elevator, more fans, men and women, young and old, caught up with him. Come on, theyll just grow in number, said the hotels security officer who was to escort Pacquiao to his suite. A male Puerto Rican fan had Pacquiao planting his signature on a pair of boxing gloves, and theyre no ordinary gloves because they have the Philippine flag on them. He said he bought it for $60 (P3,000) on e-Bay. I waited for this moment, he said, holding on to the autographed pair of gloves. Pacquiao is in town as part of his press tour for the Nov. 14 fight with Puerto Ricos own, Miguel Cotto. The other day they were in New York, and on Sunday in San Francisco, on Monday Los Angeles and Tuesday in San Diego (Pacquiao only). Pac-Cotto will topple all records in gate and PPVs. :good:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy
People in PR recognize PBF skills. But they will never like him because of his big mouth. Manny has the respect of the Puerto Rican fans, which is very important in the island.
Well, Puerto Ricans love Manny because of the way he fights. Just like their Hometown hero Cotto. They know they will be watching a tremendous fight. I have big respects to Cotto because like JMM, I know he will give Manny a tremendous fight. Win or lose, it's a win win situation for the boxing fans.
nice, im sure Cotto will recieve the same hospitality in the Philippines, even get a gig as a commercial endorser just like EM!, respect are given to those who earns it, not only in the ring, but also outside of it.
You have to realize that boxing is a MAJOR sport here in Puerto Rico. Everyone I know, and dont know, knows a bout Manny, his fights and his career. People also know about PBF, but of course everyone loves Manny, and feveryone dislikes PBF. Everyone has rooted for Manny in all his previous fights here, but everyone has rooted against PBF in his previous fights. To put it into perspective, Im sure more ppl here know about Manny than ppl know about Alex Rodriguez.
you're delusional. PPV numbers for Marquez vs PBF will def be better than Cotto vs Pac. Puerto Rico has only 3 million people and most of them are too poor to buy PPV's so that ain't gonna help ****. Now look at the populations of America, Mexico and England (where there's a lotta hype for this fight and where people really like Floyd). :deal
Mod ban this racist ****er. Floyd attract ****, even his hometown boys do not go to his fight , Floyd have to paid them to go.
Are you ****ing kidding me??? Are you really that ****ing stupid???? Teenagers in PR can buy that PPV. By the way *******, AMERICA is not a ****ing country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are an idiot! they haven't even sold out the mgm yet and let me tell you there are more poor people in mx than PR.
