"But it's frustrating because he is contributing to an ongoing problem in boxing where the best aren't fighting the best" "Fast forward to 2020 and a similar situation occurs. This time Pacuiao witnessed Spence's demolition of Danny Garcia, praised him, and said he would like to face Spence. A few weeks later he repeated his desire to face Spence along with other possible opponents such as Crawford or UFC fighter Conor Mcgregor. What happens...?" "Pacuiao doesn't want any smoke with any real prime bonafide welterweights" The right thing to say here would be I was wrong.
He did contribute to the problem of guys not fighting each other. It took 3 years to make this fight. He was in "talks" with Crawford for about 7 years. Now he finally is fighting one of the guys he was calling out. I want to see the best fighting the best. That's been my main thing, so again I ask why would I be upset that Pacquiao is stepping up?
Yes my posts speak for themselves. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/my-take-on-the-state-of-welterweights.659931/ As I said, what I want is to see the best fight the best. I have always been consistent on this. I am not upset to see Pacuiao step up and fight Spence, I'm excited. If Spence wins he secures his legacy as a p4p monster and on the road to greatness. If Pac wins he is easily a top 20 ATG. Win/Win.
Anyways, as I said I'm glad to be proven wrong and seeing Pacquiao finally stepped up to fight Spence. Not sure why you think this would make me upset. I don't care who wins, I just want to see the best fight.
You cant be serious lol. As if Spence having a life altering car crash that took him almost a year and a half in itself to come back from properly (rehab + time off + tune up), on top of the sports world being plunged into pandemic mode, werent the primary reasons it took 3 years for this fight to happen.
