Glad to hear someone else say something other than Barrera won that 3rd fight clearly, I scored it even but good on you for scoring it to the better fighter.

    :good

And yes, Morales was the man at 122.:good

To be honest, I dont see that much difference in his style. That has not changed. He is more disciplined (rather SEEMS more disciplined) now than when he fought EM and is able to execute the gameplan.

The problem is, like Erik, Pac tends to get macho when he gets hit and become susceptible to being caught. This is why JMM is able to time him nicely, because he's such an excellent counter puncher.

I disagree Kirk, the Morales that showed up in that 2nd fight would of been very competitive or won over any other 130lber elite that night,
but for sure he was not in his prime and on a downward slide.

roach retooled pac after the first marquez and morales fight. they know that in order to beat someone like morales and marquez they have to adjust and box more and not rely on pure aggression. it is no coincidence that you see him as more discilplined. it is because he indeed has changed. the pac on the 2nd and 3rd morales fight was the start of this. but is not as well polished as the current pac. though this current pac was still checked by marquez' outstanding performance in the rematch. not a shame coz marquez is a great fighter and is currently one of the best fighter even at his current age.

i just quoted you because you seem fixated that morales at that time was at a disadvantage coz he is no longer peak but pac at that time was still not the best pac version.

Dont get me wrong because I agree to some extent. Pac has had some polished performences of late and vs. Oscar is my favourite. His style has really not changed though; he's still does exactly the same things he did against EM, JMM, etc. Against JMM II, I thought the fight was headig for a shutout until the KD.
THe last part of your post is exactly my point. I think Pac-EM I took more from Erik and led to a rapid decline. But still credit to Pac for the great win in II & III.

yeah Morales really took him to hell.....

but honestly, i'd say that his loss to Morales was alot closer then his Draw with Marquez in which i thought Marquez dominated Pac for about 6-7rounds straight

but hell, what do i no? i wasn't the one getting hit

If anything, it goes to show just how in decline Morales was......
......legs are the first to go for a fighter on the decline.
They cant fight 3 minutes of every round, as they would have been accustomed in their youth.

Look at Bernard Hopkins, he can still beat some pretty good competition at his age......but he cant deal with the speed, and he certainly cant deal with a speedster who is also setting the pace by forcing him to fight when he does'nt want to......prime examples being his fights with fast Jermaine Taylor and Joe Calzaghe.....fighter faster, and able to fight a full round.

In Morales-Pac 2, Pac forced the pace and Morales could'nt run with him.

Ask any oldtime fighter what the first thing to go , and they will almost to a man say that there legs just dont cooperate.

The fact that Morales had the early edge on Pac is testament that he was the better boxer and dealt with the pace the first few rounds.....but when Pac took it to the next gear, Morales physically just could'nt respond.

No question that prime for prime, Morales had the skills to master Pac almost everytime.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The right hand is the key to beat Pac.
Morales on his own admission worked off of that blueprint created by JMM.
Morales said he saw the JMM-Pac fight 8 times and studied it intensely.

......the thing with Pac is that you have to have the legs and stamina to carry it through..

You know guys, I never thought that stamina was a Morales strongsuit anyways, but he had gotten worse with the years passing by.

......even back to the MAB fights, Morales was losing the late rounds to MAB.

Look at Morales' first fight with Pac......Pac won the last 2 or 3 rounds of that fight, not only because Morales stupidly turned southpaw, but Morales was visibly tiring and Pac still had the stamina to fight a few more rounds.

The stamina issue only got worse for Morales from fight to fight.
Morales even tiring in his last fight with David Diaz, after winning most of the early rounds.

Legs and stamina my friends.....in his younger fresher days, Morales could deal with it.
It will eventually happen to Pac......the body just breaks down!:?

    Exactly!
Pac has improved boxistically imo, but he'll never reach the masters role of a boxer in the sense of boxing with a true great like JMM.......when Pac gets hit, the Warrior in him just comes out, and he's got to get back at you.......a true boxer like JMM takes full advantage of the Warrior in Pac.

you never know. pac is already 30 years old and has 14 years of ring age fighting the best opponents in the world. his style is not as health friendly as jmm and pac should be way past his pysical peak now. he just compensate by altering his style. and please stop stereotyping pacfans as *******s coz you don't want to be branded as a marquezretard or jmm nuthugger or do you? ;) :D

    *******s know who they are!

You should not be offended if you're not one of them.

Let me make it clear.....I dont say ******* to refer to Pac fans, of which I'm one.

The ******* I refer too are those extremely liberal Pac fans that logic does'nt register with.

.....for example, certain posters would call someone who picks against Pac in a fight, or a poster that thinks Pac lost certain fights....the ******* would call such poster a Pac hater.......thats the *******.

Personally I dont call people that think Pac beat JMM, haters of JMM.
Not all, but most such fans are fans that think Pac can do no wrong, and they are of and post of the aura of "how dare you think Pac got the worst of that exchange, round, or fight!

That my friend is a *******.
Its up to the individual if they think the shoe fits their mold to wear the ******* label.
    Many wear it proudly!:D

Btw my friend, I've been called a JMMoron many times in this forum, but not once have I took anyone to task or even acknowleadged them for labeling me as such.
I dont consider myself of the cloth not to speak the truth or with logic when it comes to any fighter and that includes JMM.
....so when somebody refers to me as a JMMoron, it rolls off my sleeve, it does'nt effect me in the least.

I dont wear shoes that dont fit!;)

Agreed!Thats why they fought MAB first in 2003 before taking on Morales, they thought it was easier to hit Barrera...And I knew Marquez hurt Pac with body punches

I thought the win over Barrera was the best of his career. It can be argued that JMM was robbed in their two fights and when he beat Morales twice it was clearly not the same Morales from that war with MAB in 2000. One thing for sure is Pac is exciting to watch, even when he gets beat his fights are entertaining.

My advice would be to get back down to lightweight and face off against the many good fighters in that division coz I doubt he will have any sort of chance against the likes of Cotto or Marg at WW
