I think to say Morales was at his best at 122, only to then say he was having weight issues when he fought Barrera, is disrespectful to both Barrera and Morales. It was a great scrap, between two of the best Mexican fighters ever fighting at a good time in both men's careers. Great win for Morales, even if I and a lot of spectators thought Barrera deserved the nod. It was Marco, to my eye, that was landing the harder and more effective shots throughout.

When Pacquiao had just defeated Barrera and knocked Marquez down three times in the first round, he seemed to pride himself on his ability to walk down opponents. Morales did that for so much of his career, and it was just a case that Morales did it better than Pacquiao. He was clearly past his best in that fight though, and even more in their next two fights. Raheem got to Morales before Pacquiao did, a man he would have man handled in his prime, bar any weight issues. I just love seeing Pacquiao come forward at Morales in the first fight, only to have Morales answer back and with equal intensity. Pacquiao knew this was not going to end like his fight with Barrera did.

Rubbish. Fair enough if Morales suddenly just tired, but he was perfectly fine until Pac did some serious damage in the 6th. Morales showed tiredness after Pac got the better of him hard in the 6th, not cos Morales suddenly tired. On top of that Morales came out in the 7th full of energy and laid Pac a beating, HE CHOSE TO GO TO WAR, biggest mistake as Pac again had a chance to pummel him bad. Pac hits you that much, your legs are gonna go past prime or not.

To put it into perspective, Morales was younger then than Pac is now...and Pac is suppose to be prime.

Morales was past it but decent in the first fight, and shot by the second and third fights fight. "That he was shot is a myth". That doesn't look or sound right.:dead

I've read it too but just could not recall where. I also remember a few days after KOing Morales for the 2nd time, Pac said that he was not better than Morales. In effect, Pac admitted that Morales was better.

The fights between these guys were 5 of the best fights in the last 20 years. All of them wonderful classics of skill and toughness.
