By the way, Pac against Cotto looked a lot more cut despite weighing 2 pounds more then against De la hoya.
You are completely missing the point. No they didn't tell him to cut 5lbs for the hell of it. He weighed in at a lean and natural 142. So if he's that far under the welterweight limit, what makes you think he comes in at the mid 150's or did so for the Cotto fight? Likewise, he weighed in against Cotto at a lean and ready and natural 144lbs. That's still some weight under the welterweight limit, and he probably could of gone a few lbs lower. So what makes you think that he would naturally be coming in at the 150's on fight night?
Another assumption being touted as fact. Just how far did Pac boil down to make those weights? Are actually saying he completely dried out to make weight? Surely, you have no clue, just like the rest of us.
your wasting your time trying to educate these guys. Based on NO evidence they have tried and convicted a great fighter. How can anyone reason with such biased and ill-informed people?
You cannot reason with them at all. Their minds are made up, the gospel was spoken and they now see the light. The good word was said by the crackhead himself so it has to be true.
I am saying it is completely reasonable to assume that if he weighed in 142 for de la hoya and came in to the ring at 148.5, he was 150 for Cotto when he weighed in at 144. It is a fact that his body fat percentage did not change judging by pictures in the 5 years since his first fight with JMM. He's as ripped as ever. Therefore, that is 14 pounds of pure muscle in 5 years that he has put on from the age of 26 to 31. That is 10% of his body mass in muscle. What is Pacquiao doing differently that is allowing him to gain this muscle which he wasn't able to before?
Men get bigger. Around 27 or 28 you reach you peak. I personally think that Pac wasnt healthy when he was cutting to make 135 and lower. pac is actaully a much bigger guy then people think. Which I think is the reason that he has seemed to have got stronger as he moved up in weight, couple that with matching him against guys that are made for what he does best in the ring. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but this is worthless.
:good Another superb point! And one I had not even considered until you raised it!!! For all we know, Manny may have been boiling down for his fights at the lower weights, and is now fighting at a weight that is far more "Natural" to him, which could easily explain any increase in power and/or performance!!! As you say though no-one knows but surely a great fighter has earned the right to be allowed due credit for his great performances! I mean, it's not as if he was a club-fighter who suddenly became a multi-weight world champion in no time. The man has been world class for years!!!
for the everyday person this in not hard to do, but for the athlete this is very hard.. For an athlete that is training his or her body will hit a point during training that it will start dropping muscle before it will drop fat. This is the body natural survival mechanism, muscle take require huge amount of energy to sustain it, which would take energy from other major organs. So the body will dump muscle or eat muscle as fuel and store fat. Because of this it hard for athletes to add and maintain performance weight Roids trick the body into thinking that it is alway in a positive nitrogen state and allow it to keep muscle during hard work outs. this allow the athlete to add weight and also keep some of the same performance he or she had at a lower weight. it would be equivalent to adding a few more grain to a bullet that travels at super sonic speed and not loose any of the performance and speed.
How the **** do you know what his body fat percentage was/is and has been over the past five years? By the cutting edge technique of looking at photos of the man? Your some guy!!! Stop making exhibits of assumptions sir!!! And, do honestly believe that it is inconceivable that an athlete could slightly modify their diet and training regime and gain 14lbs of muscle in 5 years? GTFO!!!
