Pacquiao to arrive at Los Angeles tonight

Manny Pacquiao, trainer Freddie Roach and the rest of Team Pacquiao are scheduled to land tonight at LAX International on Philippine Airlines Flight 102 at 8:05PM PT (ironically about the same time Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto square off in Las Vegas). Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs), boxing’s only eight-division world champion and the lone congressional representative from the Sarangani province in the Philippines, will begin his four-week U.S. training camp, on Monday, May 7, at Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, Calif. Pacman will be defending his WBO welterweight championship crown against undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs).

The Pacquiao vs. Bradley welterweight championship collision will take place Saturday, June 9, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nev., and will be produced and distributed Live by HBO Pay-Per-View®, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT

Pac will be watching the fight. No matter what the camp says...Pac is interested in the outcome.

Manny Pacquiao: “No matter what Bradley says I still have the hunger to win. I had a great camp in the Philippines. No distractions at all. We are ready to step it up over the next four weeks at Wild Card. This is a big fight for me. I can’t wait for June 9.”

Freddie Roach: “Maybe Bradley should come over to the Wild Card and see how hard Manny works in the ring. No one works harder – no one – and Manny is not ready to give up his throne. Manny is so serious. He gave up playing basketball and that means a lot to him. He is a serious, dedicated athlete going into a very big fight. Now we do our finishing training at the Wild Card. I promise you Manny will shoot the works when he faces Bradley.”

Man, I am still on a high high from these last two weeks in the Forum and after the Dawson-Hopkins rematch and the Mayweather-Cotto show and I am already fired up to the May 19th Lamont Peterson-Amir Khan rematch and of course the June 9th Pacquiao-Bradley. I think boxing is a great part of my life now and it's becoming an addiction in the good sense. Now, Pac should concentrate and just take it seriously... Sometimes his easy going ways make me feel that he is underestimating this individual or that particular fighter and Bradley is a hell of a fighter, capital F here, short with just 5'6'' tall of height, not big reach but extremelly well conditioned, compact, muscular and learning fast how not to commit mistakes with one of the best partnerships trainer-fighter I have ever seen Juan Diaz ( former LW contender and brother of former LW titlist Julio Diaz) and Tim from Palm Spings, Cali, USA. If Manny doesn't fight his usual superhuman and relentless aggressive and nonstop powerpunching from different angles at lightspeed and using masterful getting in and getting out footwork, Bradley is sure to press him back and we never have seen Pac fighting on the back foot, it has affected many good fighters who r not used to do that from Ricardo mayorga against ODLH and Edison Miranda against Kelly Pavlik just to refer two examples. Actually we have seen him being countered hard by JMM and that was bad nes for him. Consider that this guy is undefeated and beat Alexander who is just a tremendous prospect as well.

I'm looking for a major upset June 9th. Manny Peduiao looked lethargic without his juice against Marquez. On the other hand Bradley knows this fight against Peduiao is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Bradley is hungry and he's coming to fight. A hungry, motivated fighter always gets the advantage.

Very high probability of an upset. I agree. ;)
