While Manny Pacquiao is getting a guarantee of $12 million (about P570 million) against Miguel Cotto in their November 14 super fight – the same amount he got against Ricky Hatton last May when they agree to a 50-50 revenue split – the Filipino stands to earn much more this time considering that he got the lion’s share of the money in the profit-sharing.

Let's say this fight goes to distance, which I know it will not, that's getting $1 million per round. Easiest way to win money if you can take punishment, for 3 minutes to get $1 million.

I'm not really interested about the money issues on this fight. I'm not getting part of it anyway. :D

As soon as they sign the contract I'll be happy.

And Cotto also gets a career best payday in the process. Does anyone know what he's guaranteed ?

After Arum gets his 27% and the IRS get about 40% it just seems unfair to the man that is actually risking his health. He still makes a pretty penny though.

Unfair? Even if it's $1M do you think it's unfair? Heck, I'd go fight Cotto for half a mil. Wait, I'd go as low as $10,000.

Everyone knows these fighters risk their lives every time out. But let's put these things in perspective. It is unfair when they start out fighting for chump change, now that is unfair. But at this level, hell no.

I think you missed my point. I'm just saying there are a lot of hands in the pot. Don't get me wrong the pot is huge and nobody especially Pac is going home broke. It would just be nicer if he could cop the whole 12 after pay outs.

Whatever money he gets will probably go to his election campaign, more money for Pac probably means better chances that he will win the election. :-(

Win or lose I think this will be his last fight. I believe he will leave this Mayweather fight hype to the imagination of the boxing fans.
