Vazquez participated in the #1 and #2 fights this year, and avenged a loss against a fellow top 10 p4p fighter. Who else can say anything even vaguely close to that? :huh

And please don't breathe a word about DLH at 154 or Hatton at 147 being bigger threats or more legitimate accomplishments than Marquez at 122.

    Part-time Pacquiao? Please...

You usually don't win fighter of the year when you go 1-1. He could win for fight of the year.

    Why?

The winner of Kessler-Calzaghe will be the FIRST undisputed SMW in history, not too many times does that happen. Pavlik beat the **** Jermain Taylor, contested bout I might add.

Why not? His cumulative performance across thirteen rounds sure as **** surpassed Pacquiao's across twenty. Outcomes don't tell the full story. For instance, if you didn't know any better, you might think a wide UD over Barrera actually meant having done something special.

An aging, inactive DLH by SD and an overmatched Hatton?

He better obliterate Hatton like I said....:yep

Ok, but in that case Pavlik would still have a better track record. Cotto may as well.

Well, Vasquez deserves to be considered over Pacquaio in this instance, but not FOTY. He went 1-1 in two contested bouts, both Vasquez and Marquez showed absurdly atrocious defences in the fight, I have to take that into consideration due to the fact that both are ranked p4p.

Don't get me wrong, phenominal offences, but their defences in both were pretty sad for P4P ranked guys.

I'm going to go with the Calzaghe-Kessler winner for the first undisputed SMW ever.

I don't know, Zertuche/Miranda/Taylor is a pretty good resume, but none of those names as trophies impress me as much a single win over Rafa (and I was a Miranda pusher!), and with the exception of maybe the Taylor fight none of those were even close to FOTY status.

If Cotto wins next month that could change things, especially if he won big.

The big deal is that if Floyd comes in conservatively and does two things...

    1. Fights a pot shotting affair and wins every round of course, but didn't take that extra step to absolutely WRECK a totally overmatched and totally overrated opponent who is made to order for him then it has to be taken into consideration.

    2. He gets me a wrong prediction and I hate getting predictions wrong.

I'll just have a bone to pick.

Luckily, Hatton is so limited and is at such a stylistic disadvantage that I think Floyd will just open up and rip to shreds. I also think that Floyd chose this guy for that reason, so he could showcase the best of himself.

    Cross your fingers.

    PICS OR STFU

but yeah it is stupid I can name 10 guys off the back of my head more deserving

    Pavlik
    Cotto
    Mayweather
    Hatton
    Dawson
    Mijares
    Donaire
    Calderon
    Juan Diaz
    Izzy
heck even Darnell Wilson seems more worthy

Im guessing this is just them making it up to Pacman for giving it to Baldomir and not himlast year, but its still not right.
