I honestly think floyd would beat manny. I hate floyd with a passion but I feel he is all wrong for manny! I just dont understand why floyd is talking about retiring now, He has to prove to the world that he is the best. He has to give manny pacquiao a boxing lesson!!

i guess that's the only way out of the negotiation... we've been hearing pac getting soft and agreeing on the cut-off dates :D

I would have given him the fighter of the decade if he fought in those 2 years that he retired.

Its just an f'n award. I don't know why Floyd is so butt hurt over this.

    Truly deserved.

Floyd may very well be the "better" fighter, but only an actual fight could prove that. But Manny was the more exciting one. And since Floyd seems to now have successfully ducked him, when in doubt, give it to the more exciting fighter. But sure, if Floyd would have defeated him, he would have been FOTD, maybe more. What would we think of Ali today, had he not fought Foreman?

Floyd had a couple of great fights before he moved to Welterweight, but since then, he has produced snorefests.

What fight would you rather show your grandchildren, Floyd carefully outpointing DLH en route to a SD or Manny beating him up for 8 embarassing rounds? Floyd letting Hatton wrestle for 10 rounds or Manny annihilating him in 2? Floyd dominating little Marquez in klitschkoesque fashion or Manny battling him and arguably splitting the fights (IMHO)? Floyd dominating Mosley for 10 rounds with neither man looking like they've been in a fight afterwards or Manny beating Cotto to a pulp?

In the same vein, for me, Roy Jones Jr. isn't FOTD for the 90's but Evander Holyfield is. He had more losses in the 90's, but he also had the better opposition and much more memorable fights.

No way. From 2000 to 2009, PAC's performance is greater than Floyd maybe because Floyd was temporarily retired for 2 years. It's done. It's been awarded already and that decade is finished.

If ever Floyd defeats PAC this year, he has a good start for Fighter of the Decade for year 2010 to 2019. Floyd will be 43 when this decade ends in 2019. He still has a good chance of winning it. Good luck Floyd. :D
