Agreed. I'd be cool with them just finding some random kite-seller at a hut out in Macau and signing him up for Manny, for the sake of his confidence at this point.

Pacquiao will make a mess of Alvarado or Rios, they're perfect for him regardless of how the Marquez fight went. I refuse to believe that Pacquiao is going to be getting knocked out like Roy Jones every fight from now on.

Pacs the one that just got KTFO, Alvarado is an actual risk ffs.

:rofl:Alvarado is not a risk, Alvarado/Rios type fighters are perfect for Pac, it will be like watching him work on heavybag, but it is decent fight to come back after KO loss:good

Rios is a better win than Berto, which seems to be the only person you need to beat to face Floyd.

It wouldn't be a great fight, but its a comeback after being KTFO ffs. He has the power to upset Pac at this stage, its whether he can actually land anything, which he probably can't.

They need to pay Marquez. I thought Pac only fought for honour and legacy anyways.

This is a Floyd thread all of a sudden?

Anyways, Alvarado is not a threat. He got rocked by a jab and was stopped just a fight prior.

LOL exactly - it's not as if Pacquiao is going "I dont' want to go near Marquez as he KO'd me, and don't want to near Bradley as he's a risk" - Pac actually wants to go back in the lion's den and fight Marquez again even though the risk of getting KO'd is high, especially on the psychological level

Do you see Mayweather trying to make a fight with Canelo? Or with Martinez at 154?

Alvarado is THIRD choice FFS coming off a big win from Rios at 140. Guerrero comes from 135, beats Berto in a war and is Floyd's FIRST choice

    Bunch of idiot *****s :patsch

No its not, just pointing out the hypocrisy of some of the poster in here. Ortiz and Guerrero are not threats to Floyd either, yet these fights are fine.

Is Pac not allowed a tune up after being Ko'd?

Alvarado is a good comeback fight, and since we have no idea how the KO has affected Pac its riskier than most comebacks. He's a world ranked fighter with decent power is he not?

It's up to Floyd to fight the ranked guys in the division he is champion of, and he's done it since '98.

Mike is a good fighter but to call him a risk? He'll give Pac work, but let's not pretend anything less than a Manny KO would be acceptable.

I have no problem with Floyd fighting them guys, they ain't percieved as a risk though and are not great wins. Anything can happen in there all the same.

We where fed that they were/are tuneup fights though, this is also a tune up fight.

For all we know Manny is done, only time will tell us if he isn't.

and the differance is also, Manny is an active fighter, and has just been ko'd, a soft touch is expected.
Yet he is still trying to make marquez or bradley 1st anyway.

Whats hilarious is how manny's soft touch fight in Alvarado, is as equally tough a fight as Floyds fight that he's trying to sell as the toughest fight available.

I agree, if floyd tried to actually make a competetive fight 1st with alvarez or even trout and they fell through so he takes on guerrero than fair enough.

But to be fair, with butt lickers like MVC and turbotime as fans, floyd could agree to fight juan diaz right now and they would still be on here arguing the reasons why its a great fight.

I don't know anyone calling those great wins though. So if Manny loses to Alvarado it's because Manny is done? I thought you just called him a risk? Which is it?

It speaks volumes to Floyd's greatness that top 5 ww's and champions that are much bigger than he, are merely tuneups though :yep
