1 or 2. Froch's reach must seem freakish to Pacman. Pacman would have to run a couple of seconds just to pass Froch's reach ....
You have to consider that Froch is "only" 25 pounds bigger than Pac. If Pac gets on his bicycle he might even make it to the 12th round. It's not like Froch is the most accurate puncher either, he is from the school of "swing in case you hit something". If Pac literally runs the whole time, Froch doesn't have the footwork to catch him.
lol what a backfire thread!!! Pacman would whoop the **** out of this web-footed *******. First how will he land punches and second how will he be able to avoid stoppage after being counter-punched the whole fight! lmao at this thread ah man this **** is funny hahaha
There's a lot to this argument. Don't get how people are saying 'Pacquiao doesn't make it through 1 or 2 rounds'. Is Froch automatically going to land on him then? If we take Pacquiao as a natural 140lber at this point, then Froch is 'only' about 20% bigger than Pacquiao. It wouldn't be an exciting fight or a fair fight in terms of size, but why is it unthinkable? David Haye fought Valuev, who was 45% heavier. Can anyone tell me why Pacquiao couldn't employ a similar strategy to Haye and make it stick for 12 rounds? Froch is less slow and more skilled in relative terms than Valuev, but the size difference is less also.
I think Froch could land a couple punches per round but I dont think he could land clean/crisp-effective at all. How? How could a guy with an offense like Froch land solid-effective punches on someone with Pac's speed? He could land, he could cut the ring off, but I think his punches would be blocked or slipped. The ones that land wouldnt be anything that could put Pacman down. Its common sense. I think if Froch was actually quick or crafty enough to land that he could definitely drop Pacman early but the truth is that he isnt. He is a slow hard puncher. If De La Hoya couldn't land on Pac then how could Froch? lol cmon yall this is a no-brainer.
froch is the same size as hopkins. if paq was a 160 fighter moving up then talent wise paq is way ahead , but super middles are big men who boil down . think about how many middleweights in the last 10 years have been succesful moving up to 168 and have good win loss records. virtually nil. paq is a very small welter in terms of size and height, who gets by on talent at 147 , there is only far a very talented fighter can move up before they are simply to short. mosley IMO is a much more talented fighter than forest, but the height and reach advantages forest had as the naturally bigger man made it hard for mosely and talent is not always enough to overcome the disadvantages of height and reach .
None of that really addressed the question though. How does Froch land on Pacquiao? How long does that take? How does he end it?
The thing is, Froch wouldn't have to land clean, crisp, flush punches to be effective. He would be effective even if he hit Pacquiao's arms/ guard/ shoulders/ upperbody with hard non-flush, looping, haymakers. So the question then is, would Froch be able to cut off the risk and tag Pacquiao even not flush, using his long reach? I think he could. How? By rushing Pacquiao and shipping some punches on the way in before unloading, using his uppercut when Pacquiao is within range. So then, we would have to ask: could Froch take Pacquiao's sharp, hard, precise, flush counterpunches on the way in, before unloading? I think Froch is tough and brave enough. But I think Pacquiao could definitely last a few rounds and I think Froch would have to take some had punishment before finally pushing Pacman against the ropes and brutalising him. Froch KO 4 or earlier.
