The British fans will be in Vegas en masse that weekend. On the Friday before Mayweather v Hatton there was an "undercard show" at the MGM Grand involving 4 or 5 British boxers. It was a good show but poorly attended because GBP did not publicise it. We had the ridiculous situation of thousands of British boxing fans roaming up and down the Strip and a group of up and coming British boxers fighting in the MGM in an arena that was about a tenth full. On the Saturday we had to sit through Manfredo v Lacey etc. which nobody was interested in.
So lets have some good British boxers up against quality Americans or Filipinos before the big one.
If anyone can make it happen its GBP.

I thought that Brit boxing fans were like their soccer fans in that they were 'tribal' in the sense that Hatton fans only support Hatton and the area in britain that he comes from?

Froch is a world title holder.

A few good people coming through, Kell Brook is a one to keep an eye on

And the olympians (something America wouldn't about these days in boxing)

Craig McEwan v Alfredo Angulo would be one though if Angulo`s team don`t want it then there are many others. Vera would be good. I`m sure others could come up with their own. We could sort out a few of the on going debates on this site. Which Brits should be matched with which Americans/Mexicans/Filipinos on the Pacquiao v Hatton undercard?
BTW did you know Manny now claims to be Scottish? Check out about 1.45 into this link.

Undercards seem to make little difference to PPV buys.

They could indeed put something British orientated on for the paying fans in the arena. It would make for a good atmosphere. A few good talents could go on.

True, but when you're staying up till 4/5am you want to see some decent fights on the undercard.

You could still have a decent world class fight too. How many cards have 2/3 top quality undercard fights?

There is always showcasing of young talent, it could be British talent. I don't think people are going to buy a PPV on the basis of whether they are American, Mexican or British. But you could sure drum up some decent atmosphere and big fight feel by having a few Brits as opposed to everybody falling asleep watching Marco Lopez (9-0) from Mexico.

I'd like Paul McCloskey to be on it though.
