well i am confused as well when he posted this and don't know if he is really serious or just trolling.

looking back it looked like it's because pac has achieved greater things after but before the fight, this was well demanded among the boxing fans thinking that hatton would give pac serious problems with his body shots and rough-housing tactics. besides the fact that hatton was undefeated at the weight 140 and fights well in it.

The people who said that Hatton was cherry picked have all something in common

:deal Its not pacs fault that Hatton was the most overated fighter of the last 25 years, end of the day he was in the position he was in (number1 at 140) and so Pac had evey right to fight him.

People forget that hatton actually never really wanted to fight Pacquiao, he wanted to fight Dela hoya at wembley in a mega money rip off but was forced into pacquiao when dela hoya lost.

these ****ers voting cherry picked were still obviously watching WWE in 2009 and knows nothing about boxing. the line of reasoning back then was that Pac was overrated because he beat a skeleton in DLH but he will be tested by Hatton because Hatton is a live body who will punch back. When Pac-Hatton negotiations hit a snag over purse share, haters jumped on pac as though he was trying to duck Hatton by pricing himself out because he knew Hatton would tear him apart. Now noob morons claim Pac cherry picked him, ****en noobs

I'm a Mayweather fan but it's easy to see that Hatton isn't a cherry pick. If it's a cherry pick for Pacquiao then it's probably a bigger cherry pick for Floyd as he took him up into a weight class he wasn't comfortable at.

I think neither are cherry picks and I don't understand why if you are a Mayweather fan you have to click it's a cherry pick just because you are a Floyd fan rather than seeing it for what it is.

These polls just end up being popularity contests.

I will say this for the 1000th time: Anyone who saw the Lazcano fight should have known that Hatton's chin was cracked. I predicted a Pac KO within 4 rounds from the moment the fight was brought up. So yeah, it was a cherry pick...but Hatton was the Lineal 140 lb champ so Pac fighting him on his way up was totally warranted. I would just say that Pac got lucky with the timing. Honestly after watching Cotto fight so poorly against Clottey it was pretty clear that Pac would steamroll him too. Clever matchmaking though, because Cotto was a good Welterweight name for sure. Clottey was really unnecessary seeing that he wasn't active enough to decisively beat Cotto and was clearly outgrowing WW anyway. I actually enjoyed the Margarito fight, but it wasn't really necessary. Just a clever way to put impressive WW names on Pacs resume while lining Arums pockets with in-house fights. This Mosely fight really doesn't need to happen either, but it should be exciting while it lasts.

All in all, Pac has been well matched to maximize his popularity and status in the sport. Anyone who knows boxing knows that if he had been managed by Nacho Beristain we wouldn't be having these Pac is an ATG discussions! But seriously, Pac is a great fighter and a definite ATG.

I like your begging. I hope Floyd listens to what you are saying and at the same time find his balls to fight Pac.

    I don't think he is the cherry-pick.

You mean Pacquiao was moving down to fight Hatton before moving back up to fight the #2 welterweight.

Depends what you consider a cherry pick to mean.

Hatton was on his way down and Roach said as much himself before the fight, saying how the KO to Mayweather had taken something out of him, add to that Hatton being out on his feet against Lazcano and having to be saved by the referee and you've got a good choice of opponent for any big puncher.

To me cherry picking is harsh but it was good matchmaking.

yup hatton was on his way down until he met floyd sr. and smashed malignaggi (the #1 ranked LWW then). hatton was the first to stop paulie and not even cotto could do it.

yes it's a good matchmaking because pac almost "ducked" hatton back then when he won't accept a 50-50 split right?
