arguello. in a fight where both get dropped. i think arguellos long right hand bomb is finding its mark often. i also think pacs straight left will catch arguello at some point. in the end, arguellos power, length and accuracy is too much for pac.

With all due respect, Alexis was from, Nicaragua. I saw him fight live, what a great fighter and gentleman, a credit to the sport.

Manny KO. Pac makes Alexis look like his feet are in concrete shoes. Easy win for PAC. The roided Pac who steamrolled guys years ago would not let Alexis see the fifth round.

I see Alexis Arguello winning this fight by razor thin of decisions. Manny has that quick burst of blazing hand speed, and does fight at angles. Alexis , flatfooted has that snake like left jab, and that very annihilating right hand that put the likes of Ruben Olivares to sleep. I do see a very brutal bout here, as both fighters hurt each other, Manny is the faster of the two, a weakness of Alexis. But Arguello strikes often when Manny comes in to exchange, and Alexis is one of the more accurate fighters, good concentration. Arguello starts to go to Manny's body, which begins to sap the fluid mobility from Manny. In the closing stages of the bout, as Arguello continues to walk Manny down, he is badly hurt by a quick burst of combos by Pac Man, El Flaco holds on to score the victory. Both are facially marked at the end. This has to be one of the best match ups. This could possibly be a start to a trilogy worth seeing.

He is no Mexican warrior bro. Gotta be able to fight through broken nose and eye sockets. Can he do that? Marquez had to drink his own blood to win. I don't think Arquello is that tough.

Pacquiao beats Arguello in every weight class by the late stoppage. He is faster and he hit harder than Arguello.

With all do respect, I have seen Alexis fight tough opponents as well, and I have seen both lose big fights, Arguello vs Pryor, 1982, 1983. I saw the Pac Man, who is also a tough fighter lose to Tim Bradley, on Sept 6 2012, Jeff Horn, July 2 2017, and Floyd Mayweather,on May 2 2015. Alexis Arguello was from Nicaragua, which does not make any difference. I too am Mexican American, proud of my culture, but I look at the skill in a fighter, not their culture, Marquez, a skilled fighter is not an Alexis Arguello. Your opinion is your opinion, different strokes for different folks. Everyone's opinion is very important.

Pacman would be too fast for arguello. Foot and handspeed is with pacman. Giving him different angles with 6 punch combo and if arguello tries to brawl like he did with aaron pyror he will lose badly. Arguello aint no marquez who is the best counter puncher of this era and will always give trouble to pacman. Styles makes fight and arguello's style most likely lose to the pacman.

If Arguello doesn't know how to counter and attack he just wants to bang and trade he gets a rude shock.

    Tough crowd

He walked through all types of hell in his 80 plus fights.

The level of opposition he faced is ridiculously good.

Lol if that was all it took for Manny to stop people, why was Marquez never stopped? Marquez is basically a discount Arguello anyway.

    Arguello at 130 by stoppage.
Didn't see enough of Pac at 135 to judge accurately.
    140, lean Pac by stoppage.

Marquez's power is criminally underrated. He's an extremely hard puncher, especially at 126. Is he as big a puncher as Arguello? Probably not, but not far off either.

Also, let's not forget that Pac did defeat a prime Marquez too. So, could he beat Arguello? Absolutely. Pacquiao at 126 stands a chance against any fighter in history.
