You think chavez would care about lowering his chances of winning by using a different trainer if it means his biggest payday? Put yourself in his shoes for a moment.

His whole image is built around being the undefeated son of the great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

Once that's gone what would he have?

Mexicans make boxing a passion. They been watching for decades. I think they know JC will NEVER be elite.

this. if he chavez could make easy work of gomez who i think is his toughest opponent to date, then he could have been maturing properly. his performance against duddy was quite impressive.

Mexicutioner slaying the son of the greatest mexican of them all. lol. Chavez needs to stick to being a sparring partner, he would get anihilated. Mind you, Cotto will do that anyways, show him the difference between a C class fighter and an elite.

Duddy is a C- level fighter and Chavez was going life and death with the man. Gomez is another C- level fighter, Cotto showed in their fight that Gomez isnt anywhere close to that level, was like sticking an amateur with 1 fight vs a national level amateur.

you are too harsh. duddy might be a C level while Gomez is a C+ boxer. yes of course gomez would be outclassed cause cotto is an A elite fighter. but chavez jr could improve more. chavez did fine against duddy and actually controlled the fight.

not trying to justify a fight with pacquiao but let's see more of him under his new mentor.
