One thing for sure is that I believe Clottey is a harder style matchup for Pacquiao than Cotto was and also the fight is at 147 not 145 so overall I consider it a step up in competition for Pac going back to his first fight above 130. Plus i don't know if Pac is training as hard for this fight as some of his other ones where he wasn't such a big favorite.

I also feel that Clottey can bust MP up real good, and he does have good speed and power, and is stronger, bigger.

But maybe they are planning on "turning" Clottey, all night long?

Once he gets his feet set up nicely, and is ready to rumble, they make MP move around laterally and make JC re-set again and again.

Kinda like how they did it woth Cotto.

Cotto's got a destructive cannon ball left, but a cannon also needs to be set up first, secure the foundations, aim carefully and then shoot.

But if the target keeps on moving laterally, it will be hard to aim the cannon accurately.

Hell no. It's only the Floyderinas aka Floyd's fanboys that tend to discredit Clottey. Clottey would have great chances of beating Cotto and Margarito in rematches. He's a fighting machine with room for improvement, but he's good enough to beat any WW. He reminds me alot of Ike Quartey, not as much power, but he seems to be faster and more disciplined and may even surpass Quartey. He is accurate and has very good precision.

Clottey throws more arm punches than Cotto. He doesn't take nearly as long to set up in a stance. He greatly sacrifices power when he does it, but will alow him to be able to throw a lot more quickly from awkward angles.

Pac will be better served if he can find a way to trade with Clottey and time him in mid-combo. He will score some pretty big shots this way and force Clottey into a shell for a few moments allowing him to score more "busy points"

It's been years since I've seen him really fight toe to toe and trade punches.

Maybe since the early 2000s. That was fighting teent guys.

I dont think Roach would want a real head to head punch-out against a naturally bigger dude. MP's more than maxed out his weight class.

With Pac, it's more than just turning his opponent. Pac likes to throw an extremely quick straight left in between the gloves before circling. It disrupts a counter left hand, and immediately after the turn, Pac likes to throw combos. However, he could also throw right hooks out of that very same straight left setup with or without circling afterwards.

It's probably very annoying to be on the receiving end of, and then Pac all of a sudden being on your left.

Absolutely gorgeous. Pacquiao did that again, and again, and again. The one thing people thought Cotto was going to have in his favor was timing. In truth Cotto's timing and overall instincts are superb. Always have been. His true X-factor. To see Pacquiao out-time a timing master like Cotto, exchange after exchange after exchange, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Pacquiao's game is so many layers deep at this point it's unholy.

notice how thats just like a 15 second span in round 2. Pac basically took Cotto's best weapon and made him think twice about it.
