Yes, definitely. I was thinking about the 2nd fight a lot in making my opinion on this. Pac didn't really have resistance in his last 3 fights so it was no problem to stick w/ the gameplan. I think this will be much different.
Yes, I am expecting for Cotto to box early and try and get Pac to come to him before turning it on later. Roach said he thinks this will happen also.
Many here on ESB thought back then this would be a close fight with Cotto the slight favorite for obvious reasons. Who would have thought the smaller Pac would be the one flooring Cotto (twice) and be the aggresor? I picked Pac to win but not in the fashion that he did by bludgeoning Cotto. I had envisioned Pac boxing Cotto like De La Hoya and then go for the kill once Cotto's stamina faded in the later rounds. Just like what Larry Merchant said after the stoppage: "We all knew Manny Pacquiao was great. He's better than we thought..." [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR3k7Fog_5c[/ame]
This is the only time I ever picked against him. I should have known better. Most impressive win to me, though many consider first Barrera fight better win.
pre-fight, people were ready to give pac credit if he won. post-fight, cotto was weight drained and/or tailer made for pac
I feel bad for Cotto basically having no corner for the biggest fight of his career post-plaster along with that bothersome title catchweight, but he was still a formidable opponent and Manny performed a great fight, I was very impressed by the win.
