Gatti vs Mayweather. That was one of the most masterful performances I've ever seen in a boxing ring. Other than by maybe a few weak jabs, Mayweather didn't get hit at all.

Floyd was near-perfect against Gatti but I found Pac's beating of Cotto much more impressive. Cotto was a far superior fighter to Arturo, so Pac dismantling him was a much better achievement.

I guess I'll be "that guy" and be the first one to say I was FAR more impressed with Pacquiao vs. Cotto than Mayweather vs. Gatti. The reason, for me, is where the fighters were at during their careers when the fights happened. To say Gatti was on the downslide when Floyd fought him would be a dramatic understatement, not to mention Gatti didn't have a lot of boxing skills (he just had ten times more heart than most fighters that stepped into the ring with him). Gatti was tailor-made for Floyd - a guy that couldn't adjust in the ring or slip punches. He didn't have the pedigree that Floyd had.

Cotto, on the other hand, was very much still in his prime (only one loss to Margarito, which in itself was questionable after the hand wrap incident came out). Additionally, Cotto had a superb amateur pedigree. Cotto was quick, strong, smart and determined. He had both the skills AND the heart to be a very dangerous opponent. Manny, however, solved Cotto and eventually had to look at the ref (Kenny Bayless) several times pleading with him to stop the fight. To me, Pacquiao's win over Cotto is head and shoulders above Floyd's win over Gatti.

To me, Floyd's win over Corrales was just as dominant as his win over Gatti. The difference is that Corrales was undefeated and at the height of his career (arguably) when they fought, not to mention that he had some of the boxing tools Gatti didn't. Floyd vs. Corrales was FAR more impressive a master class from Floyd than Gatti was, given the opponent.

Similar fights Floyd and Manny were at new weights vs bigger stronger foes. Both had a lot of fans saying they were too small and would be bullied

Floyd fought a perfect fight hardly touched got a KD and won by and early TKO maybe Gatti's worst loss

Manny took bombs from the big man, lost some of the early rounds but scored two KD's bloodied the big man chased him down and took it too him.

both very even both very different wins despite similar scenarios

    I'll take Floyd's though

    Pac-Cotto was more impressive.

With all do respect to Gatti he was moving up in the twilight of all those wars and nobody I knew really thought he would beat Mayweather anyway. Anybody know what the bookie odds were the night before the fight?

Cotto was doing good with pacman. They were going at it. Cotto had his moments in rd 1-2. Afterwards it was all Pacman, but did you see Pacman's face after the fight?

PBF was untouched aganist Gatti. He completey took him out of the equation in that fight. There is no better example of being out classed like PBF/Gatti and PBF/Corrales.
