Are you serious? Gatti lost to every elite fighter he had faced prior to Mayweather and he wasn't even the real champion at 140. Yeah Floyd looked impressive but the differnece is, Manny was facing an elite opponent in Cotto. Not Gatti with all of those losses and who had been in countless wars.

I hear that, i'm a respectful dude to a certain extent. So when people get a lil loose with thier words it gets to me. Especially knowing they would have more respect in person.

I don't think they are considering level of comp. Just straight performance. Cotto was coming of the Margo and Clottey fights. Cotto was also never the real Champion at 140 or 147.

Still all you have to do is look at what Cotto did with Alfonzo Gomez and what Gatti did against Gomez to see the diffefnece in skill level between the two.

Mayweather's beat down of Gatti looked more impressive cause he clearly beat Gatti down easily but Cotto was a much better fighter than Gatti, bigger, stronger, better all around in every way. I'd say Pac's win over Cotto is much more impressive than May over Gatti for those reasons...

In my opinion, you have to consider the level of competition and relavancy of the fight when you rate the performance. In terms of hitting and not getting hit, yes Floyd's performance far surpassed Manny's against Cotto. But when you consider the fact that Cotto was competitive with Pacquiao the first have of the fight, was ranked in the the top 10 P4P when they fought and was the bigger fighter... I rate Pacquiao's performance as being more impressive. Impressive the beating he gave Cotto, and also the punishment he absorbed. What leaves me unimpressed about Floyd is that he retired instead of facing Cotto a few years ago. To me its all about the level of competition...thats what you have to use to gauge the fight. What Floyd did to Corrales...now that was impressive....and I believe that would have been a better comparison to Manny vs. Cotto because that fight had relevancy and Floyd was facing an elite P4P opponent at the time.

again you gotta call the shyt like it is....

    Floyd/Gatti = Better Performance

    Pac/Cotto = Better Win

ask yourself though.....how the hell would Gatti do against Pac.....if Floyd beat him like that....Pac might murder him.

Im talking abut a Gatti who was trying to box and could not pull the trigger against the faster better fighter.....isnt that exactly what Pac is and he also unleashes more punches and a non-stop attack.

Anyways thats another debate.....if your gonna compare the two fights of topic...Floyd/Gatti better performance....Pac/Cotto better win.

It was also said Cotto was ruined after the Margarito fight. Are you seriously going to argue that? You realy believe NO ONE EVER said Cotto was ruined?
