Pacquaio is now a six weight world champion, right?

So why not fight at for Cotto's titles assuming he beats Clottey of course. If Manny can KO Hatton at 140lb like that, then he could also KO Cotto too.... maybe it will be a bit harder but he could without doubt do it! Bring on the record as seven time world champion!

If Manny could do that and then beat Mayweather then he could go down as the greatest fighter of all time!

Pacman started as a pro at 106 lbs.

I'd say Manny has given a little already...

Sometimes the folks that care about a fighter have to save "him" from his own self. PAC isn't afraid to fight anyone and I'm sure he would fight at 147, but he doesn't need to put himself at anymore of a disadvantage than he already is by being at 140.

Good points! But I think given the facts about both fighters the "FAIR" thing to do is meet in the middle. Cotto has been at 147 for a couple of yrs now but PAC has only been at 140 for 1 fight. He's in the driver seat so his camp should hold the cards allowing them to make the call @ what weight this fight takes place.

I'm about 99% sure Cotto doesn't get past Clottley but I still feel the fight will come off anyway. Cotto has a big name and brings his own substantial fan base.

Very true...that what I stated in anther thread on what PAC's "natrual" weight is. I'm still surprised at how effective he is at 140.

Cotto should not budge at fighting below 147.....Anything below that would be a obvious advantage to team Pacquiao.

Awful strange that Roach had no problem with Delahoya coming in at 147 but all of sudden Cotto and Mayweather must meet Pacquiao halfway:think

    @ natural

Because he dominates bigger men that suddenly makes him "natural" at those weights?

This afternoon Pacquiao could kick Cintron's ass at 154, but that wouldn't make him a natural jr. middleweight.

And, yeah, I picked a **** fighter as an example. :p

:rofl...And PAC being anywhere above 135 is to the disadvantage of PAC who is a legit 135 lbs fighter. So that means Both men will have to give something.....PAC just more, but he is operating on a higher level than Cotto so the playing field is "fairly" even.

When PAC agreed to fight DLH they agreed to 147 b/c DLH hadn't been at that weight for 8 yrs....so in order to MAKE DAMN Sure the fight would be Made PAC took a risk and he ended up making out by demolishing Oscar.

These are different times now with PAC sitting pretty at the top of this sport. People are looking to beat him to up their stock and overall legacy. Pac has put in the work....beat all odds and now deserves to make a few calls on what happens in future fights.

I see your point.....Honestly I don't know where PAC is "naturally". All I know is that he's definitley not a WW or a Jr WW. He's put on some major lean muscle to allow himself to compete at these higher weights. But I'd say he'd still be able to make 135 with no issues...below that would mean he'd have to do a lot of specific training to loose muscle mass and still maintain speed and reflexes.

Man, screw that......I think a lot of people will agree that Pac seems quite comfortable at 140. I think he will have no problem competing at 147 granted he doesn't face fighters with obvious physical advantages ie Mosley or Williams. Cotto and Mayweather will have virtually no advantanges over Pacquiao. at 147.

This is a blantant attempt in making sure the deck is stacked heavily in favor of Pacquiao. If he had no problem fighting Delahoya at 147, he shouldn't mind fighting Cotto or Mayweather at the same weight
