Is there any fighter out there who has more excuses made for him than Cotto? It's ridiculous. This guy has a golden opportunity here that is only being given to him because he and Pac have the same promoter. Despite this, both he and his fans seem intent on making as many excuses as possible before the fight even happens. This bull**** about the weight and the title is completely ridiculous. The fact that Cotto actually tried to not put his title on the line is absurd. Cotto is a WW champion who begged for this fight against a JWW and now he wants to complain about the weight. It doesn't work like that Cotto. 145 lbs. is more than fair. There is absolutely no reason that a 5' 6" 1/2 WW can't make 145 lbs. without much trouble.

Bernard Hopkins was in a similar situation when he fought Hoya. Hoya demanded a catchweight of 158 lbs. in that fight. Hopkins agreed, weighed in at 156 lbs., and put all 4 of his belts on the line. Now if a 6' 1" career MW(who by all rights could've easily been fighting at LHW) can fight at 158 lbs., why the hell can't Cotto fight at 145 lbs.? Let's also not forget that the last time an elite WW fought the top JWW, everyone bitched and complained that the fight WASN'T fought at a catchweight.

The bottom line is that this a great fight, and the catchweight is more than fair. I can understand Cotto wanting as many advantages as possible, but the stunt he pulled with the belt was petty and uncalled for. If Pac wins, there should be no excuses. Cotto is getting a shitload of money, and has a chance to significantly boost his standing in the sport. The two lbs. is not a big deal. He needs to suck it up, put his paper title on the line, and get to work.

some of you fans are annoying as ****. why should pac fight cotto with nothing to gain while cotto has everything to gain. cotto said 145 is fine now he says no title. pac should just pull the plug on this fight if there's no title.

and how many of you dimwits dont understand that this is not the first time that this has happened. big, mega fights have had catchweights for titles before, so why is it when pac asks for one he is the criminal.

i would understand this arguement if this was the first case ever but its not so you should just get over it.
