Because 2 years ago, the idea of Pac fighting Cotto was laughed at, ridiculed and called crazy. They said Pac will get killed (in memory of PACD) I have no problem with Pac fighting Cotto at 147lbs, It would have prevented situations like this. But thats(143lbs) what they offered which Cotto refused and instead offered (145). Now, if Cotto thinks fighting at 145lbs is suicide for him, its what you want to say right? cause he's drained and all, why did he suggest it? Maybe because he knows himself better than us, and that going down any further takes out the main advantage he has over Pac? or because he's afraid he'll lose it?
he said 145 lbs. because he is confident that he can easily make weight and not come in drained. Cotto set the number why are people complaining
You all are acting as if Cotto called Pac out. Sheesh. Pac wanted the fight, Pac told Arum to make the fight while watching Cotto against Clottey. Cotto, in the past said that he was OPEN to a fight with Pac. That doesnt mean he called out Pac. And why cant Pac fight at 147? He wants to fight for the title doesnt he? Hell other fighters who fought for the title didnt demand a fighter to weigh in below at 147 lbs. Stop it with the BS that Pac started at the lower weights. Pac is fully grown now. And pls dont use the reasoning that Pac is p4p king and that he gets to call the shots. If he uses his p4p status, then he obviously doesnt deserve full credit for making unnecessary demand to give him a very favorable advantage on fight night.
Im a huge fan of both but this pac fans are a joke. If Pac wants to brag about how he beat a WW champ the caliber of Cotto and be a 7 division champ he should fight Cotto at 147. It is Pac who wants to get his 7th tittle not Cotto. People (pac nut huggers) keeps saying the same **** over and over (cotto is the bigger man its not fair) then WHY THE **** is doing Pac getting a fight with a god damn WW. If he wants a WW tittle then everyones needs to realize he have to fight a bigger man. Stop with the damn bs already. 145 no tittle and 147 for tittle thats it. go pac, go cotto
Please don't mention 141-147, they don't understand that. Too big for their little brains to comprehend that WW weightclass start at 141 and ends at 147.
Whoever agree with this needs to go back to elementary school. Let's start with the fact that Cotto never even ask for this fight. He was asked 1 million times and all he said was he was available. The rest is as simple as 2+2=4
Exactly!!! That means Cotto should be free to weight in at whatever weight he wants between 141-147. Not limited to 145lbs. That is not the rule. And they have to stop allowing the challenger to make new rules for the division. I understand Manny is the hottest man in boxing right now. Still, his only fight @the division was against DLH, who wasn't even ranked at the division. But this all part of HBO master plan to destroy boxing organizations and turn boxing into the same kind of show UFC is.
Interesting quote from Cotto; "It doesn't matter if it takes place at 145 pounds. That was the weight WE HAD SAID FROM THE START. I will go up in weight by 8 to 10 lbs.(by fight night). We are waiting confirmation that the fight is done. Nothing impresses me. He has two arms and so do I. Things in life happen when they have to happen," Well, this should end all of the controversy over the weight. Cotto has no problem with the weight. In fact, it's the weight that he suggested. Now hopefully all this silly garbage about the belt can be settled as well, and then we can all actually talk about the fight.
Whata surprise to find you here...Cotto hater to the fullest. NO jackass. You are obligated to weigh anywhere from 141 to 147 for a WW fight. BUT with a catchweight. You are now shriking the range from 141 to 145. This is NOT what the WW terms are for the weigh-in. Thus making this fight for the title a ****in' farce...just like everything you post about Cotto :good Stop with the haterade and just sit back and watch Pacquiao agree to 147 because he really ain't got **** else for options. Because we all know he don't want any from Mosley :yep
Funny you mention that. Roach said something similar about Cotto weighing whatever he wants because he's confident that Cotto would lose anyway. SO why not have the weight simply be at 147 for the belt and no fuss or complaints :good. If he wants to make history by being a 7 division champ...then why **** it up witha catchweight?
Do you get paid to dick ride Cotto, or do you just do it for fun? You don't what the **** you're talking about. Any fight that takes place between 141 and 147 is a WW fight. Just because there is an agreement between the two fighters to come in at a weight below the limit does not change the fact that it is still a WW fight. This is not rocket science. Know your **** before you come after people like that. Seriously, if you remove Cotto's dick from your ass than you just might be able to not sound like a complete idiot when you talk about Cotto. There have been a ton of championship fights for almost as long as the sport has been around that took place at a catchweight. Not only that, but Cotto is the one who expressed interest in fighting Pac, and he's the one who suggested the weight. That makes this stunt he's trying to pull with his belt even more puzzling. it's amazing that you call my post a farce, but you haven't been able to refute any of my main points. Tell me who the hell Cotto is going to fight if this fight falls through? Again, Cotto suggested 145, and said he has no problem with the weight. Since you simply think i'm a hater, please explain to me why Cotto doesn't want to put his belt on the line when he's the one who wanted to fight Pac, and when he's the one who suggested the weight? Are you honestly going to tell me that if someone like Mayweather were call out Pac, suggest a catchweight of 145, and then turn around and say he wouldn't put his belt on the line unless the fight was at 147 that you would have no problem with that? i dare you to say you wouldn't have a problem with it because we both know damn well that you would be lying.
Answer this question for me; is Cotto fighting Roach or Pacquiao? The last time I checked, he was fighting Pac. Now if Pac were to come out and say he has no problem fighting at 147, then you would have a point. Because he's not a real WW, that's why. Why the hell did SRL win his LHW(which gave him a then record 5 belts in 5 weight classes) title at a fight that took place at 168? Why the hell did Hoya try to become the undisputed MW champ by fighting Hopkins at 158? Again, catch weights have been a part of the sport for decades. This is nothing new. The question you need to be asking is why Cotto would suggest 145 lbs. and then say he won't put his belt on the line against a blown up featherweight. Please answer that for me.
