Should JMM beat Casamayor, he would be the Ring and Lineal champ. Who the man is arguable. Its funny how Pac, JMM & Guzman are gonna rule the LW division coming up from 122 & 126lb

ok I agree with you that Malignaggi is a contender at 140. If Hatton looks good against Malignaggi and Pac beats the man at 135 then i am all for Pac vs Hatton, but right now its just a money fight, not much more.

Of course it isnt. I could understand why Pac-DLH was called that cos Pac stood no chance but Hatton-Pac is a very good matchup in itself.

Wouldn't it be something if the SFW's won all their first fights in the LW division and all against titlist..

That's what I have said in other opportunities, that the 135 was really weak. Pac won, and now is up to Guzman and JMM. If they win their fights then the three of them will be ruling the division.

I think they are counting on that. A loss against Hatton might be just a loss and won't stop the other fihgts from happening. However, it would if it was the other way around.

I wouldnt say weak, very solid but the best fighters Diaz & Campbell are B+ fighters at best. Pac & JMM are A+ fighters with Guzman being an A- IMO.

Juan obviously. Casamayor if he has a good night can perform at a A- level also but right now, hes a consistent B.

There are so many fights that Pacquiao can make at lightweight and most of them are big events for boxing fans. I also like to see a fighter take care of whats in his division before moving up. But Hatton-Pacquiao is one of those fights where you don't mind seeing Pacquiao move up for. It looks like it could be on of the biggest and best fights in boxing. Fact is, there are so many possibilities and Pacquiao seems willing to face the best so we might get to see a lot of those fights made with Hatton and at lightweight.

Ok. But even with that I disagree. It hasn't happend yet, we just saw Pac winning, there are two more to go, but if it does happen, then don't you really think that it is pathetic to see three so called champions in the same division losing their titles to 122 and 126 pounders?

Not only that, these former 122 and 126 boxers are not really young and also they are not in their best weight class.

I have seen other great champs moving up and winning titles but their best weight class was probably the one beneath.

That's what I said that the division was weak. I mean three champions losing their titles vs 122/126 pounders? Can you imagine the rest of fighters in that division.

As I said before it hasn't happend yet but we might witness happening.

People want to see a cheating huggybear fighter get knocked out by an exciting puncher ala Tua vs Ruiz.

That would truly be boxing justice.

Well, fortunately the Battle between Cotto and Margarito is one glimmer of hope for boxing to stay in the spotlight. Instead of going for money, Cotto understood the importance of fighting a man in Margarito. While either man could win and take control of the welterweight division, the real winners are the fans and the sport of boxing.
