    yea i'm definately a Pac-hater.

if you just wanna see Pac win a title in another division then he might as well take on Andreas Kotelnik

Didn't Roach say they are willing to fight Hatton in Manchester?!!

I'd rather see that than Pac-Campbell at this stage.

Well if he fights Hatton then you would get your wish. Hatton the man at 140 and it would make a huge fight for Pac...

    Roach on a Hatton fight

"Roach has said that talk of a Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight is "serious"

Yeah, I want the Ricky Hatton fight," said Roach, Pacquiao's trainer.

"Style-wise I think it's the perfect fight for Manny," Roach said.

Roach isn't saying that Pacquiao would like to take on any 140-pounder out there. Not at all.
"There are a lot of 140-pounders I wouldn't fight out there, of course, but the thing is Ricky Hatton's one that I would," Roach said. "I think Ricky Hatton's the perfect opponent for Manny Pacquiao. I think it's a great fight and I think it's a huge fight for us."

Roach said he is talking about a one-and-done situation.

"If we ever fought Hatton at 140, we would go right back down to 135 for the next fight, I'm sure, because there are a lot of 140-pounders I wouldn't take," Roach said. "But he's one that I would."

"The thing is he made a lot of money; he might be a little spoiled," Roach said of Hatton. "They tell me he's having trouble making 140 now. His lifestyle in between fights, it's going to catch up with you sooner or later. It has to. It's part of life."

"Heavy conversation is expected to commence as early as Monday when dialogue will convene regarding a possible showdown with Ricky Hatton."

    no.

simply winning the title is not what i am after. For me, winning the title against David Diaz at 135 was supposed to be a tune-up for a meaningful fight at 135. ITs not a popularity contest, and therefore i see no reason why Pacquiao vs Hatton is a worthy fight right now.

Pac needs to prove he is the man at 135, and Hatton needs to prove he is still the man at 140. Then the fight becomes worthy

dude, first of all chill out with the caps lock and the emoticons.

secondly, just yesterday Campbell's promoter said that the fight with Guzman is not yet signed and that they would put that off for a fight with Pacquiao.

and btw do you guys realise that Hatton doesn't even hold a title at 140?

There's 2 ways to look at the situation.

Pac goes up in weight and hypothetically beats Hatton. (Roach said Hatton is the only guy that they are willing to fight at a catch weight or at 140)

Then Pac can drop down and face Casamayor/Campbell/JMM/Guzman. If he does that, that will make a 135 unifying match even more mythical than ever.

Scenario #2 is that Pac fights the winner of Campbell/Guzman and loses by narrow points on decision.

Out goes the big money fight against Hatton.

You're not looking at this from a money perspective. From a boxing perspective unifying at 135 and then going up to fight Hatton makes boxing sense but not boxing cents. However if Pac were to beat Hatton and come back down, it might not make boxing sense since the train of thought is to stay at 140 but it would make tons of more money for both fighters at 135.

Hatton/Pacquiao is a win win situation for both fighters and the fans. The losers are obviously the 135 pound champs who don't get to fight Pac...I say to that, "Oh well".

There's a reason why there are arm chair promoters and there are seasoned CEO's who get paid big money to market their fighters.

we realize that. However, Hatton-Pacquiao fight is what the people want. This is why you shell out 50 bucks for a kind of fight instead of shelling out 50 bucks for a Pac-Diaz fight.

If malignaggi beats Hatton any prospect of this fight probably goes out the window anyway..
