How can a current #1 P4P be an underdog against a bigger Limited Good fighter who's out of the top 10 P4p???

PBF moved up for DLH. RJJ moved up to fight Ruiz. I don't think PBF & RJJ were the Underdog going into the fight.

Agreed. Hatton is on the downward path but a fight with him could be disastrous.

He competes because he is big at that weight, can take a punch, and can deliver a beating.

This is the wrong match-up for Pac. He has come up too many divisions and we should remember that one pound in the lower weights is more significant than higher weights.

When a newly 135 Pac dominates the #3 Lightweight by the Ring Ratings, it just means his good enough for 140.

Well that will depend on both fighters next couple of preformances. If Pac puts in another Diaz type preformance and Ricky continues to look like he's on the downward slide then public opinion will change but as things stand right now the general boxing public still thinks of ricky as a very good fighter at 140. They believe that physically he's too much to handle for everyone at 140. They would take this belief and apply it to the naturaly far smaller Pacquiao and conclude that Hatton will be too strong for Manny. Also you have to consider the style of the boxers involved in your comparisons. Floyd and Roy are two fighters known for flashy skills and ability to hit and not get hit. This serves them well when fighting guys that are much larger then them because they're style minimizes the amount of punishment they take from the bigger fighters they face. Now most people don't think of manny as the type of stick and move boxer Roy and Floyd are, although his preformance against Diaz proves that against a Diaz type guy he could fight this fight (by the way not a bad warm up for Hatton cause that is the fight he would have too fight). Instead most people thing of Manny for what he has been most of his career: a Boxer puncher who puts himself in the firering line and lets his speed and power win him the day. Thus because most people still think of Hatton as a "beast" at 140 lbs and because most people don't think of Manny as the type of slick boxer that can get away from a larger pressure fighter I would predict that the bookies would make Hatton the favourite going into the fight.

P.S. Ruiz was more of a Favourite with boxing insiders before the fight then with John Q public. It was an interesting example of when so called experts over thought things abit too much. Very possible that could happen with a Hatton fight too.

Hatton is **** and i mean really **** against Southpaws his true fans know this and if i was them id be shitting myself.

Pacman will make Hatton look bad.

Pacman by TKO late 10 in a bad matchup for Hatton. How bad was Hatton against such **** southpaws like Urango and Collazo imagine a ultra fast and powerful Pacman.

    Bad matchup for Hatton.

And your point is? Hatton did beat Lazcano after all, and if you stick around long enough to make predictions you may even predict a KO every once in a while when a decision win takes place instead. ;)

Btw, would you provide the link. Not that I don't believe you... I often make passing predictions on fights that don't stir my interest either way, but I don't remember this.

I'll say this...other then the money its certainly a no win for Hatton. If he gets his ass knocked out (a vary real possibility) he's the laughing stock of boxing. Basically he'd be viewed from then on as a guy milked one good win against an old champ for all it was worht but who never really had any real talent. If its close the props go to MAnny. And if he wins by brutal KO he gets no credit cause Manny was out of his league. He would have to be really motivate for this fight otherwise he would risk losing a lot.

Hatton does look **** against southpaws - but the more recent opponents were of the cagey variety, and let's not forget, he schooled Urango, and was **** from round five onwards.

I think he has faced ten southpaws and beaten each - though none are in Manny's league P4P.

It is a strange matchup for both guys really - no doubt Manny and Roach fancy a payday, and who in boxing is a bigger payday, other than DLH??

O_money I searched around and couldn't find it so I will give it here in short:

First, Pac is a completely unproven entity at this weight, and has in fact not faced the best at 135lbs either. Hatton has never been beaten at this weight, and for all of his folly against Mayweather, he is underated here on this site if considering his effectiveness rather than just his skill set. Despite his being the same height as Pac, he has the larger frame and uses this physicality to his advantage in the clinch, where he tires fighters with less conditioning.

Hatton can take Pac's power, and has fought against better power at 140lbs. With the size advantage he should move Pac backwards where he has trouble fighting off of the back foot. His own power will trouble Pac and his body work will show its affect by the mid rounds. Hatton is conditioned to go 12 at 140lbs and Pac's conditioning will be put to the test by way of fighting the bigger man at a weight in which he hasn't had time to settle into in addition to the body work and clinching.

Hatton will take some shots early but will come on as Pac's speed and power begin to fade. Conditioning will be a huge factor in the fight, Hatton's is great at 140lbs and Pac will find himself above his comfort zone. Hatton will use this to grind Pac down. As his work rate falls Hatton will exploit a less mobile target. This type of fatigue will be something Pac is unacustomed to and Hatton will take advantage.

    Hatton TKO 10.

Perhaps the only impressive thing in Hatton's last fight was his stamina - which would be put to good use against a man not used to a guy with such strength.

Basically - pretty much everyone who gets in the ring with Hatton gets thrown around like a rag doll for most of the fight. Is this something Pacquiao could cope with??

I see an entertaining bout with a late stoppage for Hatton. The body shots will slow Pacman down and leave a standing target. He eats the straight right - which is Ricky's secret weapon.

Hatton hasn't lost against a southpaw. That being said, don't you think this statement is an exageration?

Hatton put Collazo down, that was the difference. Pac fans should know the significance of that.

Hatton has the style to nullify and beat Pacquiao. I'll be interested to see the odds if it gets made.
